Damien leaned on a nearby tree waiting for Thane to arrive at the site of the blood gate ritual. He Watched as Tobias threw up on a bush just across the trail. He had not said a word to him since they had gotten back from the pits. He understood why he wouldn't say anything, he betrayed his trust by protecting Thane who stole something that literally meant the life of this realm. It was up to him to keep her secret to keep everyone alive.
" every second I spend here... is another wasted on arresting that bitch of yours" Tobias eyed his guard dangerously.
" I have my reasons for not yelling you"
" Therefore, you just committed treason"
" go ahead and make an example of me I've not afraid of death," Damien said looking The prince in the eye
" Awe Thats cute" Both men turned to find Thane sitting perched upon a branch looking down on the two. Tobias had his hand on the hilt of his blade ready to draw ready to fight.
" how long have you been there?" Tobias asked
" long enough that you intend to make an example of my dear friend" She jumped down in front of Tobias, though, a foot taller than she Tobias could easily overhand her in strength, but when it came to technique he was a dead man.
He opened his mouth to speak but closed it after he couldn't find anything to say " Thats whats I thought"
" Leave him alone." Damien laughed " he's not used to women standing up to him"
" excuse me?!" Tobias threw his hands in the air "I'll be down the road do whatever you need"
Thane turned to the mess of body parts behind them she circled the area. Again she got in the tree' s to look down on the circle. Thane's eyes darted left and right around the clearing in her mind the complex lines drew within her head. Taking a deep breath she jumped down taking slow steps to the middle. She picked up the dismembered hand looking at the open wounds and the finger nails. They where gone.
" The poor man" the words where barley audible but loud enough to hear.
" The man was tortured"
Damien's head perked up " What do you mean?"
She held up the hand " the open wounds where from a dull blade and the finger nails where pulled out"
