Conners pov

The thrashing.
The muffled screams.
I should have known. I should have listened.
But I didn't and now she is gone.

"I don't care! We just need to find her!" I shouted.

I rub my temples trying to relax the headache that was rising up. My hands were red from slamming them on the table.

I had bags under my eyes from being sleep deprived.

"Alpha, you need sleep. It's like two in the morning." I flew around to see my beta with a worried look.

"No! I can't! My mate is still out there with someone who isn't me! I can't sleep until she's safe." They didn't understand. They didn't understand how much it hurt.

The pain.

The guilt.

Yeah, of course they care, she is there Luna. But they don't feel the pain and guilt that's nagging at me.

It was all my fault.

Because I was to damn lazy to check what was happening.

Yes, I felt the sudden rise of my mattress.

Yes, I heard some crashing and bumping.

But, I was dumb. They slipped away with her.

"Alpha, please go get some sleep. We will do our best to try to save our Luna." I didn't even turn around to see who was speaking. I just let my feet guide me back into my room.

"Alpha, how did you sleep?" I turned around and saw a sweet old lady. She worked in the kitchen.

"It was good, thank you." I walked off.

It wasn't good. I didn't sleep at all.

I keeped thinking of Melody. And what happened, just broke me down. I cried all night long.

But I had to look strong for my pack. If I broke down, there alpha, then they would break down too.

I walked into our conference room and saw cups of coffee littered on the floor and table. And some pack members still in pajamas.

"Conner, do you know who could have done this?" Nathan, my beta.

"I have no clue who could have done this or why!" I have made treaties with all neighboring packs for support of an attacks, but no one has attacked or even threatened us.

"It's okay dude, we'll find her." He says patting me on the back and walking back over to a few men around a computer. I walk over to the long table in the middle of the room, in which a few pack fighters are discussing something. I throw myself into my seat causing some pity looks thrown my way.

I was tired of the looks. The pats on the backs. The 'It'll be alrights'.

They can say all this, because it's not happening to them.

I go to the quiteness, of my isolated office. I leaned back into my chair, but not before grabbing the phone. I dialed the first number on the handwritten list of close and far out packs numbers.

"Hello this is Alpha Conner I'm just calling to tell you if you see my mate or have any type of idea where she can be please contact me, and I'll be emailing you a picture of her, thank you." One down many more to go.

Melody's pov

The room was dark, I could see the windows had been painted over with a black paint.

I laid on a metal table. I tried to arch my back so it would not be touching the cold metal for long.

My hands where chained to the two top corners on the table and my ankles the same. I eyes burned when I closed them like I was staring at a bright screen for to long.

I heard the metal clink of the door's lock unlatching. My breathing started to get intense, and cold sweat went down my forehead.

"Hey hun." He somewhat whispered to me.

"What do you want?" I asked

He lightly chuckled to himself and he came over to rub my head.

"Ohh honey, I want nothing but your love." He kissed me on the head and unchained me. Then dragged me out the door and into a media room.

There, he and I, sat on a leather couch. He grabbed the remote and flipped through the main channels on the t.v, as I watched him. His every move.

How the hell was I going to get out?

Who the hell was going to save me?

Why does this guy want me?

These questions filled my head as I watch his thumb press the up arrow on the remote.

"You like disney movies?" He asked.

"Umh, yeah?" I replied

"Great!" He said as he presses play on the Aladdin, disney movie.

Why was he being so nice and gentle with me?
