Chapter Two - Blue Food

*Midnight's POV* *The next morning*
I wake up at about 4 a.m. to Nico thrashing around, he's having a nightmare. I wake him up and calm him down. "Do you want to talk about it?" I ask him, he shakes his head. "I love you." I tell him. "I love you too." He replies. "Whas goin' on?" Will asks sleepily. "Nico had a nightmare, but he's fine now." I tell him. "Ok, I'm goin' back to sleep." Will says, then rolls over and falls back asleep. "Are you ok to go back to sleep?" I ask Nico. "I don't think I can fall back asleep." Nico says.

"Ok. Wanna help me make blue pancakes?" I ask. "Blue pancakes sound good!" Nico says. "Give me a minute to get dressed, then we can go make breakfast." I say, then I grab my hoodie, (which I stole from Nico a while back, Nico stole it from Will, so it smells like both of them, a mixture of Peppermint, and what I can only describe as Sunshine.) one of Will's CHB shirts, a pair of black jeans, black socks, and my combat boots. I walk to the bathroom and get dressed. I walk back to the attic, and see that Nico is already dressed.

I grab a bottle of blue food coloring I packed in my suitcase, along with the small rectangular box in there, my coffee machine, and my coffee, and we walk downstairs together. It's about 6 in the morning right now, and everyone else is still asleep. We make some pancake batter from scratch, add blue food coloring, and cook them. Then I realize that we are in a house without electricity, so my coffee machine won't work, I have to function without coffee today.

At about 6:30, the rest of the demigods walk down and sit down at the table. "Happy Birthday big brother!" I say to Percy, then I set a stack of pancakes in the middle of the table next to the stack of plates. Percy glances at my wrist, which is green today, then says "Happy Birthday Midnight!" Everyone grabs their blue pancakes and starts to eat. "I can't believe that we only met 2 years ago" He tells me. Suddenly I get an idea, "Jason, will you help me make my coffee, there aren't any plug-in here." I ask Jason.

"Sure." He replies. He grabs the plug end of my coffee maker, and uses zaps of energy to power up my coffee machine. Soon I have a fresh pot of coffee made. "Thanks." I tell Jason. "No problem." He tells me. At around 8 a.m. all of the Weasleys walk downstairs and into the kitchen. "Why are the pancakes blue?" Harry asks. "My ex-stepfather, Smelly Gabe, and our mom had an argument once over blue food, and if there was such a thing. Smelly Gabe, told her there wasn't. From then on our mom would go out of her way to make blue food. Plus, blue food tastes better." Percy replies. The Weasleys sit down and eat their blue pancakes.

"It does taste better blue!" Ron exclaims. "Not that regular pancakes don't taste good." He quickly adds after a glare from Molly. "Time to sing the Birthday song to Sea Starr and Kelp Head!" Will says. "Thanks Sunshine." I say. "Happy Birthiversary!" Will and Nico say together. "Happy Anniversary, to you too, Sunshine and Angel." I reply. Everyone starts to sing the birthday song to Percy and I. After breakfast, I wash all of the dishes, and ask Molly if I can make blue cookies. "Would you like to help me make the cookies, since Nico helped me with the pancakes?" I ask Will, after Molly said that I could.

We bake a few batches of blue cookies. By the time we finish baking all of the cookies, it's just about lunchtime."Can we go on a picnic together for lunch?" I ask Will and Nico, after a sudden idea. They both say yes, we a make few sandwiches, pack them along with three cookies and three water bottles. "You may each have ONE cookie with lunch." I tell everyone. Nico and Will each put an arm around my waist, then we walk out the door. It's a nice sunny day and we find a nice shade tree to sit under. We sit down in a triangle, and I unpack our lunch.

I grab my turkey sandwich, a water bottle and a cookie, then start eating my sandwich. Once I finish my sandwich, I drink half of my water and eat my cookie, then finish the other half of my water. Suddenly, I see Nico get up on one knee and pull a small rectangular shaped box out of his pocket. "Starr Midnight Jackson, William Solace, I have loved you both very much for more than a year now, and know that you both love me back. Will you marry me?" Nico says, then opens the box. Inside are 2 rings, both simple black bands. Will and I both burst out laughing, and pull out boxes of our own, then open them.

My box has two bronze rings, Will's box has two gold rings. (Our rings represent three different types of magical metals, Stygian Iron, Celestial Bronze, and Imperial Gold.) Then we all burst out laughing together. "Yes!" Will and I say together. We exchange rings. "Who helped design your rings? Will asks. "Hazel." We say together. The rings that Will and Nico gave me even stick together, because of tiny magnets in the metal. We stick the rings on our left ring fingers. I grab a Drachma from my pocket, create a rainbow and call out "Oh Fleecy, do me a solid and show me Sally Blofis in Manhattan." A picture of my mom shows up, and she's talking to her husband and my step-dad Paul Blofis. "Mom!" I call out because she hasn't seen me yet.

She looks at me and says "Hi Midnight, what's up?" "I wanted you to be the first person I tell. I'm engaged to Nico and Will!" I say, then show her the ring on my left hand. "Congratulations!" She exclaims. "It's kind of funny how it happened, we accidentally proposed together." I say, then launch into how it happened. After I finish talking to Mom, we walk back to the Burrow, holding hands. When we get inside, we get told that our friends are upstairs. We walk upstairs together, still holding hands. "Guess what?" I say excitedly, when we get into the attic. "What?" Hazel says. Nico, Will, and I show them our left hands. "We all proposed together, by accident." I say, then tell them the whole story.

*Time Skip* *Dinner*

"So, I hear you like to prank people." Percy says to the Weasley Twins, Ron told us. "Yeah, so?" Fred and George say in unison. "I wouldn't advise pranking Midnight, let's just say that the last 2 people that pranked them were stuck in the infirmary for a month." Percy says. "How'd they prank them?" Fred asks. "Don't you dare say it. I don't want you giving them ideas." I say to Percy. The Stolls turned all of my clothes neon pink, I hate pink, so of course they ended up infirmary.

*Time Skip* *After Dinner in the Attic*

Percy and I are sitting on our bed, and the opening gift our friends got us. Thalia, Leo, Calypso, Hazel, Frank, Piper, Jason, Annabeth, and Percy all pooled in to get me more coffee, and a magic coffee machine. It runs on magic, so that it'll run in Hogwarts without a problem. "This means so much to me, you guys. I love it!" I tell them. "Well, we didn't want you grumpy everyday from coffee deprivation." Thalia says. Nico and Will gave me a first aid kit with a thermos of nectar and a bag of ambrosia. Suddenly, I hear someone walking up the stairs. The only reason for someone to be up the stairs this high was if they were coming up here. "Guys, be quiet." I whisper to everyone.

After everyone falls silent, I get up and open the door. Standing at the door is my dad, Poseidon, in Greek form because there are more Greeks here than Romans "Dad!" I exclaim, I give him a huge hug, then I see who's behind him. "Mom!" I exclaim, then give her a big hug too. "We couldn't miss our childrens' birthday, now could we?" Poseidon says. "We wanted to bring you our gifts in person, and also congratulate you on your engagement to Will and Nico." Mom says, then hands me a bag that says 'Happy Birthday!' on the front in Greek. "Go ahead and open them!" She says after handing Percy his gift bag. I open my bag, and see a box wrapped in green wrapping paper.

I unwrap the box, and see that it is the latest chromebook laptop. "I had Leo and Hazel make it monster-proof and it runs on magic, so that it can work in Hogwarts for you." Mom says. "These chromebooks must have been expensive, how did you even pay for them?" I ask. "Paul and I paid for them together. Plus, Paul got a bonus at work." Mom replies. "Speaking of Paul, is he here?" Percy says. "No, he's at home with your little sister." Mom replies. "Well, it's now time for my presents. Percy, my present to you, is that I'll pay for college for you." Poseidon says. "Thank you, Dad." Percy says. "Your welcome." Poseidon says. "Now, Midnight, I'm giving you the ability to switch your body, from male to female, whenever you feel like it.

"Now, I have to warn you, that tonight you are going to be knocked out, and sleep for a while, because the blessing takes all night to kick in. After tonight you'll be able to switch at will." Poseidon says. "Thank you, Dad. I can't believe that you would do this for me." I say to him, then give him a big hug. "Get comfortable in your bed, I'll do it there." He tells me. I climb into the bed and get comfortable in the center. "Before you do this, I have a question." I tell Poseidon. "What?" He asks me. "Will you walk me down the aisle when I get married?" I ask him. "Of course, I would love to!" He tells me. "Thank you!" I exclaim. Poseidon raises his hands above me, and the next thing I know, I'm dreaming.
