♪ є м в я у ♪Imprinting was such a strange concept to Embry. He knew the basics from Sam's thoughts, but he never thought he would have to experience it. At least, not this early on. Imprinting was supposed to be rare. Sam imprinted on Emily, and Jared on the shy, loner girl named Kim.
Walking into the small, local shop called Montoya's Extras, Embry never would've thought it'd happen. But, it did. Walking in, he only had one thing on his mind. Get the ingredients so Emily dosen't murder him.
He gathered them quickly, and practically sprinted towards the counter. Placing the stuff down, Embry just now noticed the small girl swaying to the music projecting throughout the small shop.
He watched her with the tiniest of smiles.
The music stopped and her eyes opened, landing on Embry's buff but skinny figure.
She gasped, jumping backwards and slipping on the ground.
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you!"
"Mierda, eso duele," (Holy crap, that hurt,) she grumbled, rubbing the back of her head. Embry frowned, trying to process the Spanish.
She took his hand and gasped, no doubt it was because of his high temperature. She looked embarrassed, and Embry couldn't help but think she was the most adorable thing he's ever seen.
"Uhm, how... How long have you been standing there?"
"A few minutes," He shrugged and froze a second later. "Wait, that sounds super creepy, right? I promise, I'm not a stalker!"
Immediately, Embry regretted his words, mentally yelling at himself. He stopped once he heard her soft laugh.
"I'm sorry you had to witness that," She giggling nervously, glancing up into his eyes.
When their eyes connected, Embry could feel the world shifting around them, gravity shifting. He saw it in flashes, the life they would have together. Embry knew that he imprinted, because this is the way Sam feels with Emily, and Jared with Kim.
He saw the way her nose would crinkle up when he complemented her, how her cheeks would turn a vibrant red. He would hug her from behind, digging his nose into her neck and smiling. Aly would laugh and hug his arms tighter around herself.
He could see the way she looked at him, with complete love and admiration. The way her breath would get caught in her throat when he moved forward. Embry could feel how her heart would pound and match his own as their lips moved together.
He saw himself running around as a wolf, chasing after her. Finally catching up, they rolled around on the forest floor, her body landing onto of his. Her beauty shown through her wolf form also. He moved his snout forward, licking her neck. She would huff, shake her soft brown head and nuzzle herself to him.
He saw a beautiful wedding on the beach, a brilliant diamond ring shining on her finger. He would pick her up, and twirl her around in the sand, kissing her passionately.
The image faded, but their lips were still connected, and a new setting arrived. Aly would pull away, glance down and then pick up a little boy, placing him on her hip. Embry chucked as their daughter rawred, stomping into their small kitchen. Embry picked her up, and hugged his family together, looking deep into Alyson eyes.
Years passed and Aly laid on his chest, her graying hair fanned out. From the small porch swing, Embry saw their two wolf cubs playing in the yard in front of them, watching with a proud smile.
The flashes ended and Embry shook his head, frantically, eyes going wide.
"I'm sorry, what?"
Aly gestured over to the counter, holding in a laugh. He was still in shock, his eyes never leaving her head.
"Is this all?" Aly repeated, and Embry nodded vigorously.
He couldn't believe it. Never again would Embry make fun of Sam and Jared's loving thoughts towards their imprints. He would never question them. He knew, no matter what, that he'd do anything she asked. He'd protect her with his life and do everything in his power to make Aly happy.
He knew she was done putting the ingredients in the bag, but he just couldn't stop staring. Embry knew it was rude, but his eyes kept on her like magnets. Like a moth drawn to the flame.
"So, why do you need eggs, flour and sugar, anyway?" She asked, and Embry's heart lurched at her sweet, soft voice. Like honey.
"I might have ate all the cupcakes and made a very scary woman mad," Embry pursed his lips, mentally cheering when he got her to laugh.
A truck honked outside but Embry was too busy taking in her form, her beauty, her long dark brown hair. Her everything. He never wanted these awkward few moments to end.
"Your ride seems a little impatient," she joked, grinning.
Embry sighed, sadly, and picked up the bag.
"Yep, that's Paul for ya," he muttered, admiring the red tint on her cheeks. "I should probably go."
"I guess you should."
Embry waited, trying desperately to think of something to say. With a blank mind, Embry gave a hopeful smile at the brunette beauty.
"So, I'll see you tomorrow?"
Embry could hear her heart pound and watched, her shock visible.
"Yeah, yeah sure."
With those three words, Embry relaxed, almost ecstatic. Waving bye with one hand, he bumped into the door, almost dropping the bag. His quick reflexes caught himself before he embarrassed himself even more.
"What took you so long?"
Embry couldn't find the words. The past few minutes came back, and the excitement died down. His heart pounded and he desperately wanted to go back inside and hold her. He wanted to hold her and protect her from all the evil, dangerous things in the world.
Embry glanced back, catching her blue, marvelous eyes once more.
"You didn't?" Paul scoffed, taking note of Embry's dazed expression. When he didn't answer, Paul looked through the window again, seeing Aly smile, stupidly at the ground. "Of course you did. On the shop girl? Seriously?"
"Shut up," Embry defended, hoping into the back of the truck.
"I get it," Jared shrugged, smirking. "I mean, she's cute, quiet, but feisty. Perfect for you, really."
Embry's grin grew and he smiled.
Yeah, he thought. Perfect.

Wow, so that happened 😉. I just thought I'd give you a little bts of what Embry was thinking, ya know. I'm already loving their relationship, even though they've had a total of ONE conversation.
