Dinner with Papa and Embry was slightly tense and embarrassing. Papa constantly looked between us, his eyes narrowed into slits. I ate my pancakes, silently laughing the whole time as Embry had a mini panic attack.

"So, Papa, I think it's time we get to that meeting," I grinned, pulling Embry up by the hand.

"Yep, yeah. Bye Mr. Montoya, breakfast was amazing," Embry smiled nervously.

"Yeah, sure it was you little chupar," (suck-up) he grumbled, chugging his coffee.

Embry looked at me wide-eyed and I snorted.

"Goodbye, Papa."

"Bye Mi hija. Stay safe," he went serious, making me frown.

Embry nodded and his shoulders tensed up as he lead me out the door.

"What was that about?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"You'll see when we get to Emily's," he mumbled, opening the door for me to get in my truck.

I jumped up and looked at him weirdly, nodding.

The drive made me anxious. Even though Embry said that everything is fine and they forgive me, I'm not sure that I even forgive myself. I lost control and I could have really hurt someone. The thought about what I could have done made my palms sweat and my breathing go heavy.

I pulled the truck to a stop in front of Emily's house, flexing my tense fingers. Embry jumped out and walked over to my side, opening the door for me.

I didn't move. My eyes stayed glued to the steering wheel as I refused to look anywhere else.

"Aly, novia," (sweetheart) Embry mumbled, rubbing my back. "Everything will be fine. I promise you."

I nodded hesitantly and took his hand, stepping out of the truck.

We walked slowly and I wanted to turn and run every step. When we made it to the door, the boys were circled around the table, all of them with serious faces.

Sam saw me first.

He smiled sadly and stepped forward, noticing my tense shoulders. Embry nodded at him and pulled his hand away from mine.

I glanced at my boy with wide eyes and looked up at Sam, nervously.

"How's the ankle?" He asked, frowning.

"It's good, all healed," I mumbled, pursing my lips.

"That's good," Sam said, pulling me into a tight hug. "I'm sorry kid. You've got to learn control. Without that, the world is blind. Just think of something that makes you happy. Sometimes singing helps."

"Singing?" I snorted, my shoulders relaxing as I hugged him back.

Sam pulled away and grinned.

"Don't diss it until you've tried it, okay?"

"Okay," I laughed, smiling at him and the boys.

I looked to all of them and sighed when I saw Jacob.
