"Here we are!" Kat opened the door for Hoseok and let him walk through it. He went straight to his bedroom and threw his bag onto the bed. Himself following. "Finally!" Kat leaned at the door frame, smiling at him. He sat up again, smiling at her. "Now I can understand why people always complain about being in the hospital. The food IS horrible!"
Kat burst out into a loud laugh and came over to sit next to him and wrap her arms around his waist. He hesitated for a moment before softly laying his arms around her as well. She didn't noticed his hesitation and burrowed her face in his chest, inhaling his scent. He lowered his head a little and kissed the top of her head. "I'm so happy that you're fine." She looked up into his eyes, love reflected in hers. "I love you, Lee Hoseok."
He looked at her surprised. Even though they already were together for one and a half year, none of them had said those words before. He pulled back a little and looked at her. "... thank you?"
She immediately pulled out of the hug and stood up. "Thank you?! That's all? Are you serious right now?" She was mad, he could see that in her eyes. And of course hear it in her voice.
But even though he knew he had said the wrong sentence, he himself started to get angry too. He threw his hands up in the air, defensive and also stood up. "You surprised me!" She looked at him with big eyes before taking a step back.
"Well, EXCUSE ME for fucking loving you!!" She was on the verge of crying, her eyes already teary. Hoseok couldn't stand this look. He walked over to her and hugged her.
At first she tried to escape but his muscular arms could easy keep her in that position she was in right now. So after a few tries she gave up and just started crying into his shirt, leaving a wet spot on the gray fabric. He lowered his head once again to kiss her head.
"I'm sorry. I didn't meat it that way. I was just surprised. I love you too." She looked up, her eyes still teary and red, a shy smile pecking on her lips. "You do?"
Hoseok smiled his typical smile at her and nodded. "Yes."
He felt her hands on his cheeks and seconds later her lips crushed against his. She closed her eyes and tried to deepen the kiss but he backed out and smiled at her apologetic. "Can we postpone that? I'm actually really tired..."
Even in his ears that sounded like a extremely lame excuse but he couldn't help it. He knew how it would end though. They're sex life wasn't the best. Never was to be honest. And it would never get any better. He just wasn't feeling the same for Kat as she was feeling for him.
It wasn't her fault. Of course not. Also not his. Nobody's. But is was a fact that Hoseok was gay and had just agreed to the relationship with Kat to finally silence his parents. He didn't told his parents nor Kat that he loved men. Also hadn't planned to in the near future.
But it wasn't fair towards Kat. She actually loved him. And he just lied to her about nearly everything. He felt so bad for that. But what were his opportunities?
Telling Kat that he was gay and had never loved her, losing one of the best friends he had ever had? Telling his parents about his preferences, seeing the disappointment in their eyes? No.
He knew he was selfish by lying at the most important persons in his life just to male sure he himself wouldn't get hurt. But he couldn't help it yet didn't want to change anything.
She nodded in agreement and turned around to help him unpack his clothes. "Sure. Whatever you want."
But she wasn't fast enough and so Hoseok could clearly see the disappointment showing on her face for a second and the shame and the guilt feelings just increased.
He helped her unpacking and then she went into the kitchen to start making dinner, while he laid down on his bed just staring at the ceiling. His thoughts wandered off from the guilt towards his family to the brown eyes of the burglar.
He still couldn't forget about him. But he also hadn't figured out what exactly had fascinated him about the other male. Was it his eyes? His whole silhouette? Or the way he was staring at the medicine books, like he hadn't seen anything more beautiful before? Hoseok couldn't pinpoint it. Not yet. He needed time. And he needed to be alone.
With Kat running around the apartment, he couldn't sort his thoughts out properly so that had to wait until she left. Which wasn't going to happen soon. So Hoseok pushed the thoughts about the burglar away and tried to sleep a little as he was actually tired.
