I took my daily pills. I'd almost forgot taking them before I left for school and thankfully mum reminded me before I left. You see, the consequences to not taking the pills are extremely horrifying.
I go on a down hill and it's not pretty.
Swinging my black jansport backpack over my back, I made my way out the door. Strolling down the sidewalk to school, I began to reach into my pocket grabbing my phone and earphones. As always, they were tangled up. Sighing, I began to untangle them from the tight knot they formed.
I turned the block, I passed the elementary school. The sound of kids playing, talking, laughing, screaming rang through my ears. I glanced at them watching how happy they were. They had no worry. Which seemed like freedom.
Finally, untangling the earphones, I turn left at the end of the street, crossing the road and almost get hit by a car.
"Fuck off" I yelled, somewhat laughing for some reason. The woman in the car rolled down the window and yelled those two words right back and then I laughed. I continued to walk until I got to the curb, then ran the rest. Again, I couldn't help but laugh. There wasn't a point of listening to music because I arrived to the one place I wished I didn't have to go.
As I reached school I finally saw the crowd I was supposed to be in. Compared with these guys to the kids at the elementary, we'd all be put down having mental issues because honestly, the kids were happy, we were miserable and fucked up.
I ignore the judging faces of the students and made my way into the building and towards my locker.
I opened the lock mumbling the numbers slightly, and did my normal routine.
Get books out of bag, put the books I didn't need in my bag and then put the books I did need in my bag. I took one look at the picture of Rose I had taped on the locker door. Close my locker and than see Rose.
She stood at her locker. Her dark brown hair casting on her back. Doing what she was doing, I slowly walked towards her.
"Hey you," I smiled leaning up against the burgundy coloured locker next to Rose's. She shifted her head quickly and a smile spread through her face and I swear it felt like my heart stopped. She's beautiful.
"Hi, how are you?" Her voice sounded shaky but sure. Ignoring her request to start conversation an idea popped in my head.
Curiosity got the best of me so I had to ask, "Wanna do something fun?"
"Okay?" She giggled, "what is it?"
"Let's ditch."
She choked. "Ditch?" She coughed, "I can't ditch school Teo, if my parents find-"
"Then forget it, it was stupid of me to suggest that." I began looking down to the white squared floor that lied beneath me. She sighed.
"No it's not. Let's ditch." She laughed.
A smile began to spread across my face as I looked back up at her. "Okay," took her hand in mine, "Let's go quick."
She shut her locker and we began running down the hallways making noise that could easily get us caught but in the heat of the moment we didn't care.
