A call from the Promised Land (Agent 8/Pearlina)

The octoling was thrashing in her sleep. She shot right up. She breathed heavy and was cold sweats. She had a nightmare.

After taking some deep breath, she curled up in fetal position and start sobbing. She hated this place and wanted to go home, but she didn't remember her home. She was here and knows little to nothing about her past and about herself. She felt alone and scared.

After some time, she felt a hand on her shoulder. She winced and looked up and saw Cap'n Cuttlefish looking at her with a worried, but kind expression. "Are you alright, agent 8?" he said. She shook her head, she couldn't for the moment speak.

"Do you want to talk about it? I am a good listener" he said. She nodded. "Okay, start when you feel ready."

She looked away and wiped away the tears and took a deep breath. "I am scared" she said "It scares me that I don't know who I am, who's my family are, I remember almost nothing of my past." Cap'n Cuttlefish Gently patted her shoulder.

"When we have this place" She continued with fear in her voice. "And those this that looks like octolings. They feel unnatural, not something from this world. They feel like they aren't alive and the eyes..." she stopped and began to tremble and crying again.

Cap'n Cuttlefish hug her gently and patting her back. "Take it easy and take your time" he said. He knew from experiences how to calm down someone.

After some time the octoling calm down. She took a deep breath. "Thanks" she said with a weak smile, when she continued. "The eyes were the worse with them. They were completely dead, no life. No souls, only emptiness." She hugs herself.

"It's okay to be scared" Cap'n Cuttlefish said gently. "I was scared when we walked around in the underground." Agent 8 looked at Cap'n Cuttlefish with a surprised expression. "You where? But you looked so calm and unnerved" she said.

Cap'n Cuttlefish smiled. "The trick is to not let the fear overcome you" he said. Agent 8 sighs. "Easier said, then done" she said. "True, but with friends and ally it will be easier" Cap'n Cuttlefish said.

Agent 8 looked away. "I don't remember me if I have friends or ally and if I had they aren't here" she said with sad voice. Cap'n Cuttlefish was about to tell her something, when a noise where heard from his jumper.

Both of them were startled by this and Cap'n Cuttlefish reach in his jumper for the noise, which were his radio.

"Oho! I hear something! Maybe it is Agent 3! Come in, Agent 3!" he said "Agent 3, do you copy?!" For a moment nothing happen, but when a loud voice where heard which made Agent 8 and Cap'n Cuttlefish jump. "Mic check, one-two, who the heak are you?!" a female voice said.

"EXCUSE ME?" Cap'n Cuttlefish shouted out. A new female voice where heard now "Pearl! Didn't anyone teach you to respect your elders?!" the new voice said. "Hwa-?! Who am I speaking to? Where is Agent 3?!" Cap'n Cuttlefish asked "State your names!"

"Uh, I think I asked you first, dude." Pearl said "Anyway, I'm Pearl, but you can call me MC.Princess!" and after saying that she began to rap.

"My deets? I'm short and sweet! I spit that fire make posers perspire. Step to my game? I'll bring the pain. I'm never shook because I'm OFF THE HOOK!" Pearl rapped.

"Oho?! Check it, kid. Are you stepping to me with a rap battle?" Cap'n Cuttlefish said. "MC Craig in the house!" when he also began to rap.

"Call me Cap'n Cuttlefish, but not because I cuddle fish. Smooth like butta bet you wish that you could stunt a flow like this!"

Agent 8 looked with complete confusion as Pearl and Cap'n Cuttlefish continued there rap battle, as the light there switch on and C.Q.Cumber crawled in.

"That's going one here" he asked looking at both of them. Agent 8 simple shrugged. "Ok, you two... That's ENOUGH!" The second voice said, clearly little annoyed and both of the rapper stopped. She continued "Mr. Cuttlefish, was it? We found a radio here and we're currently on Mount Nantai." "Where are you calling from?" she asked

Cap'n Cuttlefish thought for a second. "Mount Nantai...Why that's near Octo Valley!"

When he said those words, Agent 8 a new memory emerged. She remembers that she were guarding an entrance on Mount Nantai together with two other a female octoling and a man octoling.

Cap'n Cuttlefish continued "Agent 8 and I were near there, but someone seems to have taken us deep underground..."

"I see...So you and this...Agent 8 don't know where you are? The second voiced said. "Sorry to hear that...But worry not! From now on, you'll have me, Marina-aka DJ_Hyperfresh, supporting you!"

"I'll get to work analysing your surroundings, and hopefully I'll be of some help to you!" Maria said. "I don't really get what's going on, but hang tight. We got you!" Pearl said cheerfully.

"Ok,well...Anyone who loves rapping is a friend of mine" Cap'n Cuttlefish said. "Thanks for your help!" The Call ended. Cap'n Cuttlefish turn to Agent 8 and noticing now that C.Q.Cumber was here and the light was on.

"When did you get here?" Cap'n Cuttlefish asked C.Q.Cumber. "For some time" C.Q.Cumber answered. "I wondered that the noises were and come to check." He turns around and crawled back "If you need something, I'm at the front wagon" he said before he crawled out.

"Well...I believed that before they called us you said that you had non here who you could call a friend or an ally, right" Cap'n Cuttlefish asked Agent 8.

She nodded. "That's right" she said with a sad voice. "Am I not an ally to you?" he asked. She looked at him, but before she could say anything he continued "And those two that we spoke we just now, seems to me that they are allys too"

She thought a little. "He is right" She thought "I'm not alone here, there are some here that what to help me" and with that thought she felt stronger.

Cap'n Cuttlefish saw that the octoling had realised that she wasn't alone here. "I think it is time for you to pass some tests and make our way to the Promised Land now!" He said.

Agent 8 nodded. She will probably face many hellish tests, but she had now people that will support her.
