Hostile world above.

It was the year 3190 in December, when the radiation was recorded as weak enough to emerge from our earthen tomb. No one was ready for the sights of this practically new world. Trees and vines had over grown into a jungle around us. Like humanity never left Eden. There were a few things off though.
Bones. Human bones.
They were hung up north of the hatch. Femurs and skulls hanging.
Were there still people alive on the surface? What did this new world have in store for us.
We were up shits creek without a paddle for sure. An arrow whizzed by my best friend, Jack's head.
"BACK UNDER ASAP! CLOSE THE LID!" We yelled as we dove back in.
What were they. Were they human? Mutant? What could have shot that arrow at us?
"Any bets on what that was, Ace?" Jack asked me.
"No Clue. I can't wrap my head around what could have survived the nukings." I replied as we headed back to our family dorm.
Our "Family" consists of Jack, Lory, Quinn, Richard, Nicole, And me.
I am Ace Rikos, male, 19, can bench 45 pounds, and had passed the underground highschool with straight A's, and de facto leader of the squad come all things logical.
Jack Hyde, male, 18, can bench 250 and an all around power house, he was destined to be one of the first explorers on the surface.
Lory Pekins, Female, 19, her strengths lie in Medicinal Research, she and I knew each other since grade 1.
Quinn Illas, FtM, 18, and as much credit as hes worth, he knows his way around the kitchen, destined to be like a Gordon Ramsey in this new world.
Nicole Rikos, Female, 18, my blood sister skilled with trapping and knows traps better than anyone I know.
Richard Killomas, Male, 20. He had been about as powerful as a small semi his entire life. Hes basically the Parental figure of our "Family" in spirit.
We were outcasts drawn together, by fate or otherwise, only to know that we would be the first team launched to learn the new world.
"Damn. We may need some firearms before we go out to start a village." Jack implied jokingly.
"Yeah we never know when the Baba Yaga could just... GETCHA!" Nicole grabbed jacks shoulders toyingly.
Jack acted scared for a moment as we laughed down the hall as we open up the door to our home.
"Hi we're ba-What the fuuuuuu....." Jack felt as if he had just seen a murder as we opened the door to see a thin layer of food film around the entire house.
"Sorry guys.."Quinn sighed, mopping the floor with Nicole helping him.
"All good, Quinn. Where is Richard?" I quickly imply.
"In the study..."
"Thanks, Quinn!" I yelled, booking it for the study with Jack.
"News Richard. The natives are hostile. We will need firearms upon emergence." I sighed.
