The Plagued World: The Story of Maximus

Episode One - Enter: Maximus!

Some time after his awakening, Maximus was in school, learning like any kid his age. He writes some information the teacher wrote down on the board, eventually cramping up his hand. He sits down his pencil, "ouch..." His friend, Samuel, leans over, whispering in his ear, "what's wrong, champ?" Maximus shakes his head, shoving his friend, "shut up dude, I just cramped my hand."

Maximus lived a normal life, despite his clear inhuman capabilities. He didn't want it to effect much of his personal life, that includes showing his powers off to friends -- that was a no go.

He sighs, tapping his pencil impatiently against his desk, paying half attention. He's eager to get out of class, because his father is at home, the two planned to go train.

"You look antsy, Mr. Maximus," the teacher suddenly calls out. Maximus jumps, looking at him, "a-ah-! Uhm...y- no, I'm okay." He blushes, looking down at his notebook and pencil. His friend chuckles.

School lets out, Maximus and his friends walk from the building, sharing laughs and jokes. "Okay guys, well, I've gotta go, see you later!" He says suddenly, running from his group of friends, to the back of the school.

He searches left and right, then his energy bursts as he flies off, into the sky. He makes his way home, landing in front of his house, smiling. Kevin walks out, "hey Maximus! How was school?" Maximus groans, "boring and tedious as always. Honestly, why do we have to go everyday if they want to teach us the same things they taught us earlier!" Kevin laughs.

"Well, don't worry, we can have a bit of fun now! Let's go to the training grounds," Kevin says, gesturing. He walks off, Maximus follows.

They arrive, Kevin and Maximus take their places. "I can feel that you're as strong as ever, Maximus," Kevin says, smiling. Maximus grins, "of course..." He yells out, bursting into his Awakened Form. "That's new, I've never seen that one before," Kevin says, smiling.

"Heh, yeah, I've used this to tap into the powers I've awakened back whenever I took the serum," Maximus says. He smiles, dashing at his father. His speed is tremendous, sending Kevin into a shock. "What the-?!" Kevin says, before he is interrupted by a strike by Maximus.

He is sent into a mountain, which crumbles onto him. Maximus smiles, blowing steam from his hands. Kevin yells, bursting into Tomorrow's Breath v.2, breaking the entire mountain around him. He flies into the sky, a fountain of energy forms around him as he enters the sky.

Maximus looks into the air, "your energy is as plentiful as ever, Dad!" He dashes into the air, throwing a punch at Kevin. He catches his fist with ease, "heh, you too...son!" He throws a punch in return, sending Maximus crashing to the ground, the surrounding area crumbles around him.

"You may have that amazing power up, but you're still not completely ready to face me with my ultimate form," Kevin says, smiling down. Maximus stands, rubbing his head, "ugh...yeah, no kidding. Every hit is so much more heavy than the last." 

Kevin lands in front of Maximus, patting him on the back, "I think I have an idea to make you the most powerful kid in the world!" "I'm not that already?" "...well, I guess you already are. Let's make you the most powerful...ever," Kevin says.

"Now, how in the world do you plan for that?" Maximus asks. "You tapped into Peacemaker form, which, I thought I was the only one who could activate that power. I asked To about it, and he told me that you, too, can activate this power, as it laid dormant in you since you were born, same with me...but...you, your Peacemaker, To said, has the potential to over power mine by miles," Kevin answers.

"The only time I can recall activating that power was back when I lost my mind and fought you," Maximus says. "I'm aware. I guess we'll have to figure it out...yours may be connected to emotion," Kevin says, narrowing his eyes, "well, we'll pay attention to that later. Let's fight at full power!"
