The Plagued World: The Story of Maximus

Episode Twelve - Maximus's Final Form

Seek stands on a mountain, watching down upon an innocent village. Founders walk and share conversations with eachother. Seek's emotionless face doesn't change. He hands his hand out, firing a blast, destroying, and killing everything, leaving nothing but dust.

He flies off, continuing to the next city. Close behind, Maximus in his new mysterious form chases. Seek lands at a lone house, an old man looks over, flinching.

"You," he says, "you're that demon that we were warned about." He fires an energy blast at Seek, but it dissipates before it hits him. The old man takes a step back, "...oh no."

Seek dashes at the man, but he was struck back, sent into a barn, causing it to crumble over him. There stood Maximus, his aura shines in the sun, his hair completely white.

The old man runs into his house, hiding in his bunker. Seek stands, seeing Maximus. "You can't stop me," he says quietly. Maximus's breath hitches, "you know I have to."

Seek dashes at him, throwing a full-power punch, but Maximus catches it with ease. He counters swiftly, striking Seek into the air with a stomach punch. Seek catches himself, holding his stomach. He looks down, seeing Maximus in front of him.

He leaps back, growling, "this power...I've seen it before..." Maximus floats slowly towards him, Seek throws a punch, Maximus flips backwards, tons of white lights punch Seek, stunning him. Maximus dashes in, throwing an effortless punch, sending Seek thundering to the ground, crashing the ground beyond him.

Maximus appears before Seek instantly, moving so fast that it was like transportation. Seek stands, his forehead bleeding badly. Maximus doesn't waver, standing still -- his breath slow and patient.

Seek lets out a furious roar, his aura changes to a dark, blood red flame. Maximus watches, feeling his energy, seemingly unphased. Seek fires an energy blast, Maximus deflects it effortlessly. Seek throws a punch, Maximus catches it seamlessly. Seek kicks, Maximus deflects the momentum, stunning Seek, he throws a punch to his cheek, sending him flying.

The battle was heavily one-sided.

Seek stands, stumbling, his power-up seemed pointless. He falls to his knees, groaning. Maximus stands before him, "just give up, Seek, there's no defeating me."

Seek stands, letting out a furious roar, his energy exploding to new heights, but even with this...Maximus was on an entirely different level. Seek dashes at Maximus, throwing a barrage of punches. Maximus caught each with ease, Seek's speed was severely inferior to his own.

Maximus grabs Seek's hand, pulling him close, "stop this!" He then throws a full power punch, knocking Seek through several mountains, until he eventually stops, his mouth hanging wide open, twitching. Maximus appears before him, narrowing his eyes. Seek coughs, opening his eyes, "M-Maximus..." He gasps, "I'm sorry...I-I told you, I couldn't control myself...I-I feel myself slipping..."

Maximus listens to him intently, staying quiet, his breath staying calm and steady. Seek closes his eyes, but when he opens them again, his eyes are red. Maximus narrows his eyes again, floating back slightly. Seek lets out yet another furious roar, his energy skyrocketing even higher. "You won't defeat me! Not ever!!! You'll perish, alongside your forsaken family!" Seek shouts, his aura changing to a pure dark. He dashes at Maximus, throwing a punch. Again, Maximus catches it with ease. Seek starts another barrage of punches, which Maximus evades seamlessly.

Seek fires an energy blast at him, distracting him. He slips behind him, grabbing his waist. Maximus looks back, staying still. "This will do it..." Seek says, skyrocketing into the sky. He flips around, throwing Maximus to the ground. Before Maximus hits the ground, he gracefully flips to his feet, landing on them with no reciprocation. He looks up at Seek, his breath steady.

Seek growls, firing hundreds of energy blasts. They are all nullified before they could even hit Maximus. Seek shouts out, his power erupting even more. He dashes down at Maximus, throwing a super fast punch. He dodges it, kicking Seek's stomach, then his face, sending him back.

Seek coughs up blood, staggering slightly. He growls, letting his power erupt. Maximus sighs, "his power continues to increase despite me hitting critical points of his body...I guess it's finally time I go on the offensive."

Maximus dashes at Seek, throwing several punches, which he couldn't react to. He attacks faster, several copies of himself appear due to his speed. The copies combine into one as he dashes forward, striking Seek in the jaw. He snap-vanishes above him, flipping around, knocking him to the ground with a slam.

He puts his hands together, charging a super powerful beam. Seek slowly opens his eyes, blood leaking from his mouth. Maximus fires the blast, putting an end to Seek's massacre.

Maximus appears before Seek, looking down at his former friend. "It's a shame you went down this road...I'm ashamed I did too," Maximus says softly. Seek's aura disappears. Maximus reverts back to base unwillingly. He looks at his hands, "this power is truly something to behold..."

Maximus flies off to the ship, leaving the world in peace. Seek was recovering in the medbay, but there were energy sapping bracelets on him, just in case. Maximus stood beside him, frowning. "I hope...when you wake up, we can be friends again," he says quietly. He leaves the medbay, and into the pilot pit. He sits down, and charts the course for Earth.

"Time to go home," he says to himself. He leaves, and goes into his room, laying down, closing his eyes.

Back on Earth, the government had finished their project on a superhuman race. All that needed to happen was a simple injection of a serum that makes a human show incredible feats. The serum is sold to the market at 999.99$ per shot, and it is crazy. Inhuman beings run the streets, and unfortunately with it, chaos insues.

Kevin catches a fist, a stranger came and attacked him. Kevin laughs, "you think a simple serum will be enough?" Kevin pushes back at the stranger, making him stagger.

"I've had tons of people come and attack me, but you all fall short. I have decades of experience with my power, and maybe you should too. Do you even know how to use energy?" Kevin says. He bursts into his perfected Peacemaker form. He walks up to the stranger, suddenly appearing behind him, chopping his neck, knocking him out.

"How troublesome," he says to himself. He looks up to the sky, smiling softly, "hopefully you'll be home to fix this."
