ACT ONE.

"We're here." Mr. Harrington said, opening the moving truck door and letting cassie out. "Cassandra, do you want to go introduce yourself to the neighbors?" Mr. Harrington asked. "Sure, I guess." cassie replied. she walked to the door of their neighbors.

inside the neighbors' house.

"Mom!" will said. "the neighbors are coming to our door." the boy with a bowl cut said. Joyce chuckled. "Go introduce yourself!" she said. Will went to the door and waited for a knock. when someone knocked, he opened the door.

outside.

Cassie looked at the boy who was much taller than her. "H-hi." cassie said. "Hi. I'm Will Byers." Will said. Joyce walked to the door. "Welcome to Montawk!" Joyce said. (Montawk is like Montauk, but spelled different and in Maine.) Joyce looked at cassie. "Cassie! Oh, when I first saw you, you were a baby!" Joyce said, pulling cassie into a hug. cassie was wide-eyed. "it's me, Joyce!" Joyce said to cassie, pulling out of the hug. "you... know her?" will said. "her mom was my best friend!" Joyce said. Cassie looked down. "oh...i'm sorry, sweetie." Joyce said. cassie's dad was done putting the boxes in the house. he walked to cassie. "Joyce?! I haven't seen you since --- you know." Mr. Harrington said. "oh, come in, come in!" Joyce said. will walks cassie into the house and closed the door. "Will, you can take cassie into your room if you want," Joyce said. will walked cassie to his room. it had a bunch of drawings on the wall. cassie walked and looked at the drawings. "you're a good artist." cassie said. "Thanks." will said. cassie and will sat on his bed. "so... your mom's... dead?" will asked. Cassie nodded. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to make you upset." will said. "it's okay." cassie said with a half-smile. eleven walked into will's room. she then smiled. "new neighbors!" eleven said, walking towards cassie. "I'm el." eleven said. "I'm cassie." cassie said. "do you think I can tell her?" will asked. "it's fine with me... just don't tell her dad." eleven replied. "el has powers. telekinesis." "like j-jean grey!" cassie said. "you read the x-men comics, too?" will said. eleven chuckled silently. "yeah. my brother got them for me, but he lives by himself in Indiana." cassie replied. "we used to live in Indiana!" will said. eleven sat down on the bed. "in Hawkins." she added. "that's where my brother lives. and where I used to live." cassie said. "we all used to live in Hawkins, how did we never see each other in school, and out of school?" will said. "no one really... talks to me at school, they just bully me." cassie said. "well, I don't go to school because of my powers." eleven said. cassie and will chuckled. "but, us three have to go to school tomorrow, no matter what." will said. "what if I can't.... hide my powers?" eleven said. "at least you can use them against bullies?" cassie laughed. they all chuckled. "I have to go unpack the boxes in my house." Cassie said. "we can help!" will said quickly. eleven laughed at how fast he replied.
