I had picked the samples, starting with a pair of sneakers, then some heels, and last a pair of flats.
But as soon as I tried to talk about the designs he stopped me.
"I'll give you the sheets, then once you've drawn a base on what you want we can start talking. But I like to meet in a more comfortable setting. It takes the edge off of feeling the need to make a shoe that someone would think I would be comfortable making. So please, take your time and call me once you're done. Then we can discuss a location and set up a time." He explained.
I smiled and nodded, dreading having to make another phone call but appreciative that he cares about what the customer would want instead of just himself. "Alright. Thank you."Tord nodded, "Day or night, I am at my customers service." He joked, bowing dramatically.
I chuckled and nodded, "Well don't expect anything around 8 pm to 10 am." I said.
He gave a grateful sigh, "Thank you."
"Well your customer must be out now." I joked, "I'll call you. Thanks again for talking me through this whole thing. I've never had anything really custom made for me. It's nice." I said as I walked to the office door.
"I'm always happy to have a customer. Bills need to be paid at some point." He said, chuckling and scratching the back of his neck.
I smiled before exiting the office and then the store.
"He's a really nice guy." I mumbled, looking down at the sheets. Each had a simple drawing of a plain shoe.I started thinking about what needed to be added and taken off.
