Izzy the Hero of Roz

Part 5:Lava, blood, and acid flood

A river of acid was heading towards them. "We are going to have to think fast guys." Izzy said. "I have an idea." Daisy said. She stared making lily pads. "The acid will burn right through them." Izzy said. "These lily pads float in the air. We can use them as a path to get over the acid." Daisy replied with a smile. Izzy had to admit that Daisy had good ideas even though she didn't want to admit it. Daisy placed ten down hoping it would be enough. "I'll go first just I case we need more." Daisy said. Daisy flew up. Next Cassafras climbed up, then Sammie, after that it was Mimi, and finally it was Izzy's turn. She hopped up trying to get on the lily pad. the acid was only about twenty yards away. Izzy was struggling. "Come on Izzy, you can do this. Just believe." Sammie said. Izzy grabbed the edge of the lily pad. Her hands were so sweaty she slipped off. The acid was coming closer and closer.

Daisy swooped down and told Izzy to jump. As Izzy jumped Daisy gave her a boost. Daisy quickly flew back to the front. Izzy was almost a the way on. Her right leg dangled. The acid whooshed in. The acid burned the tip of Izzy's shoe. Luckily none of her flesh was burned. They started walking across the lily pads. Everyone wobbled except Daisy who had wings, and Cassafras who had four legs. Izzy was worried she would fall. She tried not to look down. Daisy made a few more lily pads.

Then each of them got down from the path of lily pads. "Thank goodness we got past that." Cassafras said. "Thanks for what you did back there Daisy. Izzy said. "No problem. That is what friends do." Daisy said with a smile, and not her rude, sarcastic one. It was a real smile. They walked down the brick road waiting for the next obstacle.

"We must stop her! We can't let her get to the Wizard's castle. The Wizard could tell her tons of things about Roz, and some stuff about me!"
"Would you like something to drink Zarina the Great?"
"Sure! Make it snappy servant!" Zarina said to her servant. "My name is Carmi." The servant said to Zarina the evil witch. "I don't care! Just go!" Zarina shouted. Carmi ran fast to go get Zarina a drink.

"Oh great, now we got lava problems." Izzy said as the came to a lava pit. "The lily pads won't work on this one. Because they will catch fire just by being above the lava." Daisy said. "I know how about we use that log over there and use it like a bridge." Izzy said as she pointed at a log sitting by the brick road. "It may catch fire though." Cassafras said. "It will take longer to catch fire, and it is a thick log." Izzy said. "Okay let's get the log."Daisy said.

Each of them grabbed part of the log. Little by little they moved it towards the pit filled with lava. With one big push they had the log sturdy and in place. "Izzy you go first, and who wants to go last?" Cassafras asked. "I'll go last." Mimi volunteered. Izzy walked onto the log and slowly walked to the other side. Sammie stepped up. She steadily walked across. Daisy flew above the log. Cassafras climbed onto the log and tried to fit all of her hooves on the log. Cassafras got to the other end.

Finally it was Mimi's turn. "Hurry Mimi! The bottom of the log is staring to burn!" Izzy said getting scared. Mimi put both feet onto the log. She walked across as quickly as she could. She half way across. Something caught Mimi's eye. The log was starting to crack.She walked with bigger steps. Then there was a loud cracking sound. Mimi jumped forward so she wouldn't fall into the lava. She felt strong pain. The log was cutting into her leg. She grabbed onto a rock to pull herself up. Se was slipping off the rock. If she slipped off the rock she would be dead. One hand slipped off and the second hand was only holding on by its finger tips. Izzy rushed over and pulled her up just in time. "Are you okay Mimi?" Cassafras asked. Then they noticed her leg. "Oh my, that is a very deep cut. You can almost see the bone." Daisy said.

"Can't you heal it?" Izzy asked. "No." Mimi said with tears in her eyes. Blood was coming out like a stream. "You healed me." Izzy said. "That was mostly the plants and and objects I collected. I'm a weak witch." Mimi said then she let out a scream of pain. "You just incredible powers that almost killed me." Izzy said. "I'm only powerful in my evil form. I change from good to evil all the time. I can't control it." Mimi said.

Daisy created a leaf caste to stop the blood because she had already lost about three pints of blood. "You won't be able to walk, that is for sure." Daisy said. "I don't like the whole idea of being like a horse, but she ride on me." Cassafras said. "But I may get blood on your beautiful fur." Mimi said. "It is fine." Cassafras said. Izzy and Sammie helped Mimi onto Cassafras. They continued on down the path.

"Carmi turn into your crow form. I need to be able to watch them in my crystal ball. So go sprinkle some crystal ball dust on them." Zarina said to Carmi. "Okay." Carmi responded. "Here is a pouch of crystal dust. Fly over them and pour it on them." Zarina said as she handed Carmi the pouch. Carmi transformed into a crow. She flew out the window carrying the pouch in her talons. "Soon they will see that they can't win. I will take over Roz." Zarina said with an evil laugh.
