The old pizzeria walls let off a pungent smell. William wrinkles his nose at the stink.
No wonder people stopped coming here
He notices a black shadow creeping around the corner. He follows it curiously, into one of the party rooms, foil hats and paper cups lined up neatly on the tables. The shadow was standing in the middle of the room.
What are you?
As if the creature had read his thoughts, it spoke in a robotic voice;
"I am the shadow of the one who came before you."
William stumbles backward.
The hell? A talking shadow? What is this?
"What are you?" He said, repeating his original thought.
"I am the shadow of the one who came before you."
What the hell does that mean? "One who came before you."? Maybe it's a previous Freddy's employee.
"Are you a previous employee? Of this restaurant?" He asked it.
"Not of this restaurant." It replied.
Of the Freddy's Diner? Or maybe the previous restaurant. I would of remembered them if they were though.
"Who are you?"
"I am the bear that haunts you, but not the one you're used too."
So not Freddy then, but who else could it be? The plastic Freddy look-a-like? I doubt that.
"Tell me your name."
"Shadow Freddy."
Well duh. Your a bear, your a shadow, tell me something I don't know.
"Can you tell me anything else about yourself?"
"The original spring lock suits, remember them?" William nodded.
Of course I do. I use one of them.
"I am the ghost of the old suit wearer."
William puzzled over this.
The ghost of one of the original suit wearers? Given the fact the shadow is a Freddy...
"Are you the ghost of the golden springlock Freddy suit wearer?"
"Yes."
William's legs buckled and he grabbed the nearest table to lean against.
The original suit wearers? What the hell?
"Why are you here William?" The Freddy asked. William stared at it incredulously.
How does it know my name?
"I am here to look at the animatronics. It's apart of my job as the mechanic." Afton replied.
Its only half a lie. Not like a shadow would care much anyway.
"You lie. You have malicious intent. I can sense it off you."
Afton gaped.
"I am not here to reprimand you. I am here to help you. To avenge my death, I will help you in your trials and experiments."
William damn near fainted.
A shadow, a ghost of a long dead suit wearer was going to help him in his quest.
"What's in it for you?" William asked.
The shadow seemed to quiver.
"Nothing as such. I am merely helping you. No reward needed."
William thought it over.
This could work in my favour. This ghost seems to have another agenda, but it seems to genuinely want to help me. My mission might be executed faster with its help as well. This could work.
"Alright, I agree. You help me and I give you nothing in return except for your soul to finally be free."
"Yes. Thank you Mr Afton. I think I'm going to enjoy working with you."
