CHAPTER 2
K  A I U S

I am done taking a bath and now wears a denim jacket and a white hoodie underneath. I paired it with skinny pants and a white shoes. I wear my silver necklace with a pendant of cross. Peitho gives this to me during our first month. I shake my head to remove the thought of her.

I am not the type of person who’ll throw the things their ex gave to them or gave them back. I treasure what Peitho gave me.

I am now on my way to the front door when I hear my mom talking to someone. Is Dad at home?

I decided to head towards the kitchen and decided to greet my Dad. He is always on work and I rarely see him. I love him, but still it kinda pissed me when he has more time with his work than his family.

“Y-You –.“ I pointed at her shocked to see her. Yes, it is THE angel. Shit, for the whole weekend I really though I am just dreaming because she never comes back. And now there she is sitting on the counter, talking to mom as if they know each other.

“Oh, here’s my boy.” Mom kisses my cheeks but pay it no mind for I am still staring at her. Because it is brighter this time, I can perfectly take in her appearance. Damn, she is really an angel. It is a sin to be that beautiful. “You know what? She’ll live with us for a mean time.” I gape at mom. I glare at the angel.

“Mom let me talk to her for a minute.” I grabbed the angel’s wrist’s. I still don’t know her name. And I have a lot of things to asked her. I walked towards the backyard, pulling her with me.

“So it is not a dream?” I quickly asked. I don’t want to miss this chance. She might disappear again.

“No, it is not Kaius Sinclair.” She said, her voice is so monotone.

“Can you please stop calling me by my whole name? Just call me by my first name.” She just nods. I paused, I looked at her outfit and shock to see that it is the same outfit from last last night. And now I realized it is not a dress but a toga. “How the hell did mom not asked you about your outfit?” I know mom, if you wear like what this girl’s wearing in the morning, with no specific event nor party, she’ll literary asked you in the face.

She just shrugged her shoulders.

“Not much a talker, aren’t you? By the way, how the hell mom talks to you like you are her lost daughter?” Mom is not a friendly type. So, imagine how shocked I was earlier.

“She knows me. I am her friend’s daughter.”

“Friend’s daughter? I never saw you before. And do angels have parents?” I asked her. Mind you, mom always want me to be ‘friend’ with her friend’s daughter.

“Imaginary friend’s daughter.”  I give her a confused looked and later gaped at her.

“I can’t believe you. You hypnotized her aren’t you?” This angel is unbelievable.

“It is more convenient. Do you want me to redo it and make you do the work of explaining?” Well, I agree to it. I just nodded at her.

“What’s your name?” I asked her. I don’t want to call her ‘the angel who gives wishes’.

“I don’t have a name.”

“Are you serious?” She is really unbelievable.

“Do angels lie?” I smile. Smartass.

“You need a name.”

“Do I really need to name myself?” She asked, confusion evident in her face.

“Of course, every human has a name. If you are living with us, you need to name yourself.” I explain like she is a child.

“I don’t know how to name myself.” And I face-palmed. This is so frustrating, she is like a child who doesn’t know anything, plus her innocent look.

“Let’s see,” I scan my eyes on the surrounding, looking for something to make her name. And my eyes landed on the mini-Eiffel tower in the middle of mom’s flower collection.

“Paris.” I exclaim, I always wanted to have a little sister and name her Paris. But luck’s not on my side because I am an only child. “Your name will be Paris.” She gave me a small smile. “We need to do something about your outfit. Can’t you dress like a real human?”

“I am afraid I can’t understand what you are talking about Kiaus.” And that confused look again. I groan at frustration.

“Can’t you dress like how we dress? More modernize? Use your power.” I said. I am excited to see her power.

“I can’t use my divine affinity to some useless things.” That monotone voice again.

“Useless things? For Pete’s sake, clothes are not useless. Go on, go outside and see for yourself that other people will laugh at you. Because of the way you dress.

A HOUR LATER

“Wow, you are right Kaius. Other people laughed.” Guess where we are. We are on the freaking mall. She looks like a person with mental disorder, looking around the mall amused with those dress on. She literary commands me to come here. How did she find this amusing when in fact it is embarrassing. “They are happy.” She smiles. I looked at her.

“They aren’t.” She looked at me confused. “They are laughing but it doesn’t mean they are happy. They are laughing at you,”

“Isn’t that good. I make other people happy because they are laughing?”

They are not happy. They are laughing because you dressed like your head has a problem, idiot. I want to tell her that but decided to shut my mouth.

If she is going to live with us. I have a lot of teaching to do.
