CHAPTER 2: Never Look Back

Deku's POV:

Shoto's father runs in my room and hands me a bag.

"Here take this. It's everything you'll need to survive. Once Shoto gets here. I'll send him your way. "

"Where am I supposed to go sir!?"

"To the forbidden forest. No attackers will follow you inside. Here take this aswell. It belonged to Touya. "

Mr. Todoroki hands me a short sword in a sheath.

"I can't take this. I know how much it means to you."

He shoves it against my chest and scolds me.

"Touya died protecting you and so did your mother. Have you forgotten about that!? I know Touya would want you to live, and so would your mother. Don't let their sacrifice be in vain. I've raised you for years and I'm proud of the man you've become. Now go to the cellar with this blade and supplies. Go out the hidden door and run far from here. Above all else. Don't look back. Keep moving forward."

I nod my head yes, grab the bag and sword. After running down to the cellar. I find the hidden door and open it. There's a mile long tunnel that leads to the outskirts of the forbidden forest. Once on the other side. I run inside. Not far inside I hear laughter coming from infront of me. A man steps out of the shadows and I back away and up against a tree.Three more men come out of hiding, and I see that I'm surrounded. I pull the sword out of the sheath and get in a battle stance. Chains wrap around my arms and pull me tight to the tree. This makes it impossible to use the sword in the style I was taught. The biggest guy walks up to me and says.

"Looks like you couldn't avoid getting caught forever little prince. The boss is going to be very happy when we bring you to him for execution."

"WHAT!? No! You've got the wrong man. I'm not a prince."

The big guy puts his blade up to my throat.

"Well if you're not. Then that means I can sharpen my blade against your bones."

My heartbeat goes from beating fast to slowing down. As I take a deep breath in. My body starts feeling warm. I black out for what seems like a moment and when I come to. The skinny guy is the only one left. All the others vanished. The skinny guy runs away. Now the chain is off me. So I go to run deeper in the forest, but as I took a step forward. My body got weak and I collapsed. As my eyes were closing. I saw the ankles of two people,. One of them had a red cape.

"See I told you I sensed something was up with this human!."

"Come on bakubro. He needs our help."

"I'm not helping a human. Let him lay there to die."

That was the last thing I remember before passing out.
