I felt myself falling, it was like my wings were cut and I couldn't fly away. The ground was getting closer. I could almost feel the incoming impact. The whole world was moving in slow motion, my life flashed before my eyes. I didn't recognize any of the moments I saw though. It was as if I was seeing someone else's past. The ground was nearing me, I just looked up into the sky excepting my fate. Then I saw a shadow shooting down from the sky. It was closing in on me. I couldn't tell who it was though, everything was blurry. The shadow was getting closer to me, I could see a hand reaching out for me to grab it. I tired reaching out for it. I was barely able to reach it's hand. I could feel the finger tips of it's hands. I reached out even farther. I was finally able to reach it's hand. It grabbed mine and I could feel myself slowing down. The ground was right at my feet now. I was on the ground and the shadow was above me. I was able to see everything clearly now, I looked up at the shadow. I couldn't believe it. It was me, but I don't understand any of this!

I woke up to Claire's dad shaking me. I was startled so I jumped up. Her dad was looked freaked out. I couldn't tell why, then I could sense multiple people around the house. Power Hunters had the place surrounded. I quickly moved over to the window and took a look outside. There were about thirty men outside in the front and I could sense even more behind the house. Claire was on the steps talking to her mom. Her dad was in his room getting stuff. I walked over to Claire and her mom. Claire was still wearing my jacket.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"The Power Hunter guys came and said they needed to search our house so George told them that they didn't have permission. Then they flipped out and called for backup. Now the house is surrounded and we need to get you and those kids out of here." Claire's mom said.

"They have the whole house surrounded. There are about thirty men out front and maybe twenty more in the back. We need to get out of here now!" I told her.

"There's no way out." She said.

I was running through all the options, I was picturing multiple ways I could get out by myself but none of them would get everyone out. We were running out of time. Claire and her mom ran upstairs and her dad walked out of the room with his double barrel. I could sense the Power Hunters getting closer to the house. Claire's dad ran upstairs so I followed behind. We went back up to the room where the kids were staying. Claire was pacing the room and her mom was looking out the window. Her dad posted up next to the door with his barrel pointed at it.

"Everybody hold close, it's about to get rough." Her dad said.

Claire and her mom took the kids into the closet to hide. I went demon to help protect everyone. I could hear the Power Hunters moving in closer to the house. Everything was quiet for a moment, I couldn't hear anything outside but I could still sense the people outside. Then it hit me, maybe I can hide the kids myself. I walked over to the closet where the kids were at and opened the door to go in. Claire's mom was standing by the door with a baseball bat with Claire and the kids behind her. I walked to the kids and hugged them both, cloaking them and myself.

"Wait, where did they go?" Claire's mom asked.

"I'm still here, I've cloaked myself and the kids to keep the Power Hunters from finding us." I told her.

"Mom we don't have to worry about the Power Hunters, let them search the house." Claire said.

They walked out of the closet and I could hear them telling Claire's dad that we were safe and the Power Hunters shouldn't be able to find us. They all walked down stairs, the Power Hunters hadn't moved at all. I could hear the front door open and the sound of several heavy boots pounding against the floor as the Power Hunters moved throughout the house, searching for any signs of us. They were moving all through the house, every nook and cranny was being searched. Then I heard more people moving upstairs. Their feet were shuffling against the hard wood floors of the house. I could feel them getting closer and closer. I was listening to the Power Hunters yelling "Clear" after each room was checked. It was getting louder as they came closer to this room.

"Clear!" Someone yelled

"Clear!" Another one, this one was closer.

I heard the door open to the room we were hiding in, about five guys walked in. I heard them flipping the bed over and opening up all the doors. One of the Power Hunters walked up to the closet. I gripped the kids tighter. He grabbed the door knob and turned it slowly as if he was trying to be ominous. The door opened slightly and I could see the barrel of a rifle poking through the crack. The door opened and we could see the Power Hunter standing in front of us. The closet wasn't that big so we were only about a foot away from him. He was a big burly man with a mountain man style beard and a jagged scar on his cheek. He had on what looked like an updated version to police riot gear, just without the helmet. It was all black with a white outline on the patches. The name "Smith" sewn into the shoulder of his vest. He leaned his head into the closet. He was about three inches away from me. I was getting ready to attack and bolt out of here. He backed up and walked away from the closet giving a signal for the rest of the Power Hunters to clear out of the room. They all left and I could hear them shuffling down the hall and back downstairs. The coast was almost clear for us, we just had to wait till they left.

I waited in the closet with the kids for about 30 more minutes, the Power Hunters left in a huff because they didn't find anything. I came downstairs with the kids when Claire gave us the all clear. Claire's mom was standing over the counter in the kitchen shaking vigorously while her dad paced around the living room. We were within moments of getting caught, and none of us know what would have happened if we were caught. I'm glad we all made it out of it okay.

I walked over to Claire and put my arm around her and pulled her in for a hug. She leaned her head on my shoulder. She was still wearing my leather jacket, but I didn't mind, she can wear it all she wants to. I walked back over to the couch and sat down. I let out a yawn and began to feel my eyes get heavy. Claire came and sat down next to me, leaning her head on my shoulder again. I yawned again and felt my eyes get even heavier. I closed my eyes and was asleep with in seconds.
