The cage swiftly split In two, enclosed, and disappeared into the walls. As this happen though, Remington and Sabrina let go at the same time, appropriately, but Remington moved. He stepped to his left then a cage wire cut his arm.
Maren was in the center of the room, unharmed. She looked at herself and checked for injuries. "I'm okay." She said. Maren was still a little loopy.
Sabrina smiled. Gracie hugged Maren ."Woah, Remington ," Heather said.
Remington's scratch looked a bit deep. He was bleeding. "It's fine," Remington said. "Let's just move on."
Sabrina ripped off the bottom part of her shirt and tied it around Remington's bleeding arm.
A hidden door opened in front of them. They looked down the archway cautious of that lies ahead for them. The players walked through the doorway and entered stage 2. This room was small, and windowless as all the other rooms have been. There was random material on the floor, all scraps of metal and rubber, like the remains of a car. There was a visible door this time and a green button about 6 feet up, just to the left of the door. There was a big tarp over the ceiling. Messages in red instructed them on what to do.
"Only one to press the button," was written on the wall in big red letters.
The players read the message. Maren was able to walk on her own now. Selena folded her arms.
"Is that blood?" Demi asked. No one answered her question. Gracie backed up. Heather turned and grabbed her. "Oh no you don't," Heather said. "This task is for you."
Gracie looked terrified. "N-n-no! No no please. Please!"
"We can't force her to go," Sabrina said. She went over to Heather and tried to get to let go of Gracie.
"Well I don't see anyone volunteering." Heather said. She gripped Gracie tightly with her hands.
"We all have to go eventually," Demi said. She had a soft voice. "And it's only stage 2. The later ones will be, you know, more difficult and dangerous." She looked at Gracie.
"I. will choose. which one I. will do." Gracie said. She resisted Heather to no avail.
Heather smirked. "Fine. This choice is yours." Sabrina looked wearily at her best friend. "Oh, and by the way your almost there so," she shoved Gracie across the room, "might as well complete the stage."
Gracie ran back to her friends but Heather pushed her back.
"Heather! What are you doing!?" Demi said.
"It's your turn Gracie ," Heather said to her.
Gracie looked at there players, pissed and betrayed. "When we get out of this I am leaving the group."
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever," Remington said. "Press the fricking button!"
Gracie turned to the door and walked up to it. A motion detector on the floor a foot away from the door flickered silently.
Abruptly, the tarp of the ceiling came undone and went through a pipe. A huge spike mechanism was revealed. It swung down and pierced through Gracie's torso. The spike that were actually needle injected into her. She was pined to the door.
Sabrina and Gracie screamed. Maren fell to her knees. Heather's eyes widened. Remington covered his mouth.
"Gracie ?" Sabrina walked up to her.
Gracie's body was shaking. Shocked and in a lot of pain, Gracie breathed abnormally. She trembled as she looked up at the button. Gracie reached her arm out, as much as it made the pain worse. She put her hand on the door and looked down with head. Gracie paused for a moment and then looked back up. She reached her arm up to the button, climbing her arm up with her fingers, and pressed the button. A tear fell from her face.
The lever lifted off of Gracie, and she dropped to the floor.
