As I was writing, I heard my parents come home, I keep writing but then I remembered, I needed to ask if I can go have dinner with Taron. "Hendryx?!" Papa calls out at the bottom of the stairwell, I hop off the bed and open my door to call out — "Yes?". "Come downstairs, Dinners ready" He replied. I look at my songbook and groan. I needed to get this album done, but I go along,
I get downstairs and sit, everyone's at the table. We start eating; "So how was everyone's day?" Dad asks, tucking a napkin in his collar and he starts eating, "it was same old" I reply. "Yeah same here." Zeppelin added,
"Zachary, Elijah. What are you guys learning in school?" Papa asked my younger brothers. "Oh we're just learning Addition and Adverbs" Zachary replies, "wow that's cool" I reply to the 8 year old. He nods, I wish I was back in school but I'm getting my GED so I can focus on my career but if my music doesn't last. I can always go to College 😊.
It was soon silent at the table, I knew I needed to ask. "Um, Dad, Papa. Can I ask you something?" I asked. "Yeah, what's going on?" Dad asked. "Well, you know Valentine's Day is coming up and well-" I start but Papa asks, "you met someone?" He asked with an eyebrow raised.
"No, Someone I know asked me out" I replied. "Ugh who'd ask you out?" Zeppelin replied, making a grossed-out face. I look at the direction of the livingroom where the front door is, then I look back at him; "well looks like no ones waiting in line for you now are they?" I replied, in a smartassed tone.
"Oh please! At least I can go up to someone without studdering and doubt" He replied back, "Oh forget you Zeppelin!" I snap at him. "Guys! Stop! Now Hendryx, who asked you out?" Dad adds,
I cringe - "Taron" I replied back. It got quiet, except for Zach and Elijah as they were eating, not giving a fuck. "Oh Taron, he asked you out?" Papa adds. "Well just to Dinner. See he had Reservations for him and his girlfriend but she called it off due to a trip she needed to go on. So he asked me instead of being by himself" I said. Dad and Papa look at each other then Dad shrugs. "Ok, I don't see why not. You can go!" Dad says, I smile and sigh in relief. "Thank you"
After dinner, I help Zeppelin with doing the dishes. Dad and Papa were talking about Me going with Taron while Zach & Elijah went to the living room to play video games. Listen I didn't mean to say that" Zeppelin replied, "oh it's fine, Zepp. I know you didn't, I know you'll meet a girl" I replied back. He whispers in my ear:
