Savannah sat at her desk in economics, struggling to keep her eyes open and focus. She knew that coming to school after spending her night awake in the railroad depot was a bad idea, but she had a test in history and she couldn't miss.

'How are you feeling, petite louve?' Savannah jumped slightly when her phone and desk vibrated under her.

Looking down at the message on her screen, Savannah knew exactly who it was from. She thought back to the previous night.

-

"So what is your favorite class that you're taking?" Derek asked as he leaned against the wall of the subway car.

Savannah thought about it for a moment, "probably French" she replied and looked at Derek, watching his movements.

"Tu es un petite louve intelligent" Derek responded in perfect French.

Savannah translated what she said to him in her head and chuckled "merci Derek" She said and smiled shaking her head.

-

Savannah looked back at the message on the screen and smiled at the pet name that Derek gave to her, quickly moving her phone under her desk to respond back to him.

'Little wolf? Is that what I am now?' She chuckled and continued to text him 'I'm exhausted but I don't want to admit to Scott that he was right about staying home,'

'The day after the first full moon can be exhausting for a new wolf, Scott was right about you staying home'

Savannah couldn't help but roll her eyes at the response she received 'If I wanted a second brother then I would text Stiles, sour wolf'

This time it was Derek's turn to laugh. He hated the nickname that Stiles gave to him almost two years ago, but now coming from this girl, he enjoyed the pet name.

'I'm just saying Sav, maybe it's best if you go home and rest'

Savannah rolled her eyes and was about to respond when she heard Coach "McCall! What is it with you and your brother not paying attention in my class?" he yelled, walking over to her desk. "Seriously? Is it a hereditary thing?"

Savannah's cheeks flushed red as she looked at Coach, feeling all eyes on her "um, I, um.. no c-coach" she stumbled looking at him.

"Next gym class you are doing suicides till you die. It will be the first suicide run that actually ends in suicide!" He yelled, putting his hands on both sides of her desk.

Savannah looked at him and her heart rate quickened and she moved back in her seat, putting her hands in the sleeves of her sweatshirt.

"Since you're phone so much Savannah, why don't you summarize last nights reading," Coach said standing up, crossing his arms as he stared at her. When Savannah didn't say anything, Coach walked back to the front of the room.

"How about you summarize the night before, or anything that you have ever read in your life" Coach continued, causing Savannah to panic. She always did the reading and was averaging a B in the class but being yelled at was causing her to forget everything.

As Coach kept yelling at her, she could hear snickers and laughing from around her. She looked around the room and her breathing started quickening and she quickly grabbed her bag and ran out of the room.

Running into the girls locker room, Savannah pulled out her phone and quickly dialed the number that she was talking to earlier, "Savannah? Is everything okay?" Derek asked as he picked up the phone.

Savannah didn't know why she called Derek, but something in her told her to call him after everything that happened "D-Derek.. Can you come get me? You were right, I should have stayed home."
