"Who the hell was that?" Caroline asked with excitement. All of Olivia's friends were staring at her waiting for an answer.
"He's just this guy I saw in the hallway," she said trying to make it not sound like a big deal when really, she still had butterflies in her stomach.
Her friends were asking her questions left and right about the boy, Olivia trying to deny every single one.
"What's his name?!"
"Did he give you his number?!"
"Where's your first date going to be?"
"Does he have any cute friends?"
"Guys can you please stop interrogating me? I just met him today. And he hasn't even asked me out."
"Doesn't mean he won't," said Delaney with a big grin on her face.
Olivia started thinking about if he were to ask her out on a date where they would go. She had just met the boy and was already fantasying about him.
"You guys are over-reacting. It was nothing." Her friends ignored what she said and already started thinking about ship names for them.
COLIVIA!
---
Olivia walked up her front porch taking out her key. She walked into the empty, quiet house; which was never the case. She went to the kitchen finding a note that said her parents had gone to go see her brothers soccer game. She left the kitchen and went up to her room taking out her phone. They're were a couple of notifications on Instagram but nobody has texted her. That's when she remembered the piece of paper Calum had given her.
She pulled out the crumbled paper trying to read his chicken scratch handwriting putting his number into her phone. She put the heart emoji beside his name without even thinking.
Olivia starting wondering if she should text him now.
Would that make me look desperate or creepy? Maybe it's too early. I should just wait a couple of hours and then text him.
And without thinking, she grabbed her phone and texted him.
O: Hey. It's Olivia. From school.
She pressed send and then waited for him to reply.
4:30
4:37
4:45
4:51No reply.
What if he doesn't want to text me. What if it was just a prank or something and it meant nothing. God he's probably never going to reply and is laughing at me right now. I'm so stupid to think he would like me.
Olivia turned off her phone and started her homework trying to distract herself. But all she could think about was him.
He was just a guy. Nobody special; and she was making a big deal about him. She tried convincing herself that he wouldn't reply and that she shouldn't be obsessed with someone she just met that day. But then she thought about his cute little smile and how happy he looked just sitting there beside her.
Olivia had noticed that she had left her math book at school and decided to text Faith to see if she could send her the questions.
When she went over to check her phone, the first thing she saw was
Calum ❤️: Hi beautiful.
