Struggles

Chapter 1

Chloe's POV

I was in the living room with my three other siblings watching a movie. Our parents were getting ready for a date night leaving our oldest sibling Isaac in charge. I am the only girl out of the four of the kids. I am also the youngest, my brother Jamie is like my best friend I tell him everything. I hear foot steps coming downstairs and I knew our parents were getting ready to leave. 

"Hey kids we are getting ready to leave"

We all mumbled a ok and went back to watching our movie. We all loved our parents but we are used to them leaving. They are normally at work all day and when they come home they eat dinner and go to sleep. This was their only day off and they still spend it together and not with us kids. I heard the car pull out and they were on the way to the restaurant. 

The parents POV

We were sitting at the red light waiting to get into the highway when we were jerked forward into the middle of the highway. We were both in shock neither of us able to do anything and that is when we heard the honk from a semi. I looked to my left in fear seeing a semi coming straight for us. I knew this was it and I knew we would never see our kids again. The next thing I know the semi was hitting our car and everything went black. 

Chloe's POV

I heard the phone start ringing I looked over to see Isaac getting up so I just went back to watching the movie. I heard the phone drop to the floor and looked over to see Isaac crying. I paused the movie and tried asking what was wrong. He put his hand up signaling for me to hold on. We were all growing more and more concerned and didn't know what to do. Soon Isaac walked over and sat on the coffee table. I calmed down a little but still had tears in his eyes. My mind was wondering trying to figure out what could be wrong. 

"Ok so there is no easy way to say this and so I am going to just say it. Mom and Dad got into a car accident. They both died on scene."

I sat there for a second then ran upstairs into my room. I slammed the door shut and collapsed onto my bed. My face pushed into a pillow while I screamed and cried. I didn't know what else to do I felt numb. I heard a small knock on my door and then it opened, I couldn't move I kept my face in my pillow. I felt my bed dip and someone place their hand on my back. I knew it was Jamie he was the only one who knew how to calm me down. 

I crawled over to him and laid my head down on his lap. He ran his fingers through my hair trying to calm me down. I heard him sniff signaling that he was crying too I felt bad. He was hurting too and he had to sit here and comfort me. I sat up and looked at him to see his face and eyes red tears still running out of his eyes. I hugged him and he immediately hugged me back both of us a crying mess.
