08·24·14Pin was kicking pebbles with the toes of her stilettos, annoyed at the fact that she could've spent her day doing something she liked, like seeing a movie or going to Starbucks, but she decided to waste it on attending an exhibit she didn't want to go to in the first place then leave gaining absolutely nothing from her stop.
Sure, Luke may be attractive with his faded blue eyes and gigantic quiff, even she didn't deny that, and maybe the sight of him seemingly flirting with a woman as gorgeous as him might've irked her, but it wasn't the entire reason she was upset. She was a person who stuck out like a sore thumb in a crowd of talented people and she didn't want that place reminding her.
So she just opted for walking in the garden where idiotic, unopinionated post-teenagers-much like her-spent their time.
"How much are these?" She asked, pointing to the beady Lokai bracelet she saw in a small kiosk shop by the sidewalk. She had a few bracelets around both wrists and some anklets but she figured that another wouldn't make much of a difference. There was one bracelet in particular that looked like marble and she found it adorable. Even if she had an allowance too little to pay her bills, she couldn't help herself from wanting it around her hand.
"Three for a dollar." The woman behind the boutique said tiredly, afterwards pressing a closed fist to muffle her yawn.
Pin was still contemplating whether she should by it or not when a gentle hand brushed against shoulder blade.
"Here," Luke said softly from behind her, handing the woman money, "I'll just take two. You can keep the change."
"Luke-"
"I want to." He interrupted, not even knowing that she was just about to thank him, "It's sort of an apology."
The woman plucked it out of its spot on the poster boards and handed it to her, giving a smile while when they walked away.
"Apology for...?" She drew out, clasping one bracelet around her wrist easily.
Pin was sure that she didn't like Luke but she was open in letting him know that him being giggly with a model annoyed her. If Luke said that he noticed though, Pin knew he'd forever see him as a conceited asshole, and she was nervous that he'd say it.
Instead, he tentatively stopped his steps to let her catch up and mumbled, "You know... for Clifford?"
"Oh, Ash?" She said numbly. It didn't exactly bother her. Luke knew a handful of people he didn't like and Michael being one of them didn't come to her as a surprise. She was upset mostly because he ignored her for three hours straight, not because he knew her best friend.
"Yeah, um. I promise you that it's not a big deal. We just know each other and we don't exactly get along."
"Oh." She repeated again, picking at the insides of her nails by habit.
"But I promise that I won't make it weird best I can." He added instantly with his eyes wide, "I'll still drop you off and pick you up at his house when you need me to. I just-I don't think I'm comfortable with talking to him directly."
"Luke, it's fine." She assured him. "I was just a little upset with you because I felt like you were avoiding me."
Luke sighed and took one of the bracelets looped around her index finger, "I'm sorry about that. I've always been such a brat, I guess." He said and Pin laughed at how sincere he was in saying it.
