INT. ACADEMICS HALLWAY - DAY
Merida walks down the hall soaking wet video chatting with her mom.
MERIDA
Mum, you don't have to keep checking up on me. I'm fine.
ELINOR
Your teacher told me you were sick. Why are you drenched?
MERIDA
I took a bath to cool down. I had a bit of a fever, but it's all good now. No need to worry.
ELINOR
You must take better care of yourself. Oh, I almost forgot. I got in touch with an old friend. She has a son about your age.
She sends an unflattering photo of Wee Dingwall.
ELINOR (CONT'D)
Isn't he dashing? I gave him your number, so expect a call later on today. Let me know how it works out.
She hangs up. Merida growls. She looks over at the sports equipment closet.
INT. SPORTS EQUIPMENT CLOSET - DAY
Merida barges into the room. She grabs a bow and a quiver of arrows and storms out.
INT. CHARMING CLUBHOUSE - DAY
Cinderella enters the clubhouse from the girls' tower. Everyone's phone is out as they discuss the latest news. She walks over to Aurora.
CINDERELLA
What's going on?
AURORA
I'm guessing you haven't seen the video.
CINDERELLA
What video?
AURORA
Don't get mad at me, but I may have turned you into a celebrity.
CINDERELLA
What does that mean?
Aurora shows her Mirror phone screen. It's a video of Cinderella dancing in the studio.
CINDERELLA
You shared this to everyone?
Cinderella looks around the room, mortified.
AURORA
I couldn't help myself. You looked so at home, and everyone else thinks you're a star.
CINDERELLA
But...
Jacques enters the room also watching the video with his friends.
JACQUES
Who is she? I have to find her this girl. We need her on the dance team.
AURORA
She's right--
Cinderella drags her away.
CINDERELLA
What are you doing?
AURORA
Did you just hear what he said? He wants you to join the dance team. You should audition.
CINDERELLA
I'm not a dancer. I was just having fun goofing around.
AURORA
But how did it make you feel?
Cinderella looks away, remembering the blissful moment.
CINDERELLA
Like magic. But even if I did want to audition, I don't have anything to wear. I doubt they'll let me dance in my pj's.
AURORA
I think it's time for a little magic of my own.
EXT. FRIENDLY FOREST - DAY
Merida aims her arrow at an apple hanging on a branch. She shoots and hits it right in the center. It falls onto Peter who's lounging on a bough beneath it.
PETER PAN
Hey, watch it.
Merida sets up another arrow.
MERIDA
Brush your hair, Merida. Be civilized Merida. What if I don't want to be civilized?
She strikes another apple to the ground.
PETER PAN
You tell her, Em.
He drops his hat over his eyes, preparing to doze off.
MERIDA
I never even wanted to come to this school. I just want to be who I am, and my mother can't even give me that. From now on, I'm only doing what I want to do.
Hearing rustling, Peter peeks from beneath his hat.
PETER
You might want to put down the bow.
MERIDA
I am sick of everyone telling me what to do.
PETER PAN
Suit yourself.
He rises to his feet and takes off his hat with a polite nod.
PETER PAN (CONT'D)
Lady Tremaine.
He leaps off the bough and dives into the lake.
Merida lowers her bow and turns around. Lady Tremaine glares back at her.
