~YOONGI POV~

"You sure you don't like him?"

I throw one of my pillows at Namjoon, "No, what the hell." "Sorry! It's just that you talk about him too much! Annoying Hoseok this, annoying Hoseok that." "He currently thinks I find him interesting." Namjoon shakes his head in disappointment whilst walking around my room, "You know how I got Jin? I was a KIND PERSON. The only compliment you have given him was saying that he's interesting and that he had a good presentation." He stops and thinks for a second, "Well...that was until you ruined it by saying it was just because he spoke confidently." "I half meant it, and stop trying to give me advice. I already told you that I don't like him."

"Yoongi what the FUCK happened to my food."

I look up at Jin standing in the doorway with an angry face and a sticky note in his right hand. "Dude, you left your chicken wings like a week ago. I ate them." "Did you not see the sticky note?!?!" he says as he shakes it in the air. "I didn't care and they were gonna go bad in a couple of days anyway." "You owe me 40 dollars," he groans as he sits down on the small couch. Namjoon sits down next to him and put his arm over Jin's shoulder, "Weren't they like 8 dollars?" Jin crosses his arms, "I added interest." "Oh right," Namjoon turns his head to look at Jin and smirks, "I ate some of them with Yoongi." Jin pushes Namjoon off him and steps on his foot as he gets up. "UM, THAT HURT!" Jin looks down at Namjoon, "Too bad, anyways, I'm leaving. I have my prep class in an hour. See ya." Jin waves back at me as he exits my bedroom. I laugh at Namjoon once it was clear that Jin left the house, "It's very clear how much he loves you."

Namjoon smiles but then starts to frown. Now that Jin left, he took the chance to turn to a more serious topic. "You think your mom will ever come back?" I sigh, "She left because apparently she didn't love my dad anymore, but if that was really the only reason, she would have taken me with her." "Is your dad at least treating you well?" "He's working all the time but when he's here it's alright." Namjoon smiles widely, "I should adopt you." "I would run away instantly. And anyway, I wouldn't want to leave my dad here all alone." Namjoon sighs, "At least you're taking this whole situation well. A lot of other people would be depressed." "Well I mean, I am grateful for the memories. And she was acting way too nice the days before she left. I kind of expected something to happen. Even though she left us and I should be mad at her. I still miss her a lot but not enough to cry every night from her absence."

Namjoon gives me a half-hearted smile, "Yeah I miss her too, she was really kind to me since we were little. And I was meaning to ask you about that whole situation before but then you started shutting a bunch of other friends out so I thought it wouldn't be a good time for you." I smile, "It would have been fine, and It's just that I realized that if my mom could seem so genuinely happy with us, and it all ended up being fake, anyone else could also be like that. " "So then you only kept the strong friendships?" Namjoon asks. "Yeah, just you, Jin, and a couple of others."

"Wait, hold on." Namjoon throws the pillow from earlier back at me, "Then why did you tell Hoseok that people can't rely on you anymore? Wouldn't it be the other way around? It makes no sense with your situation!" "I know. I meant to say that I can't rely on all the friends I make but then I said it wrong thinking about another situation but whatever." "What other situation?" I look down, "I'm not ready to tell you that story yet." Namjoon sighs, "It's okay, you don't have to tell me now or ever if you don't feel like it. But anyways, what you told Hoseok is true though. Some of your old friends that barely talked to you expected you to help them with ridiculous things. And if you said it the way you meant..." He pauses, "Well I mean, you do get attached to people quickly when they seem really kind and happy to hang out with you..." "Until they turn out to be fake and only wanted to use me in the first place," I say finishing his sentence.

"Which is why I told Hoseok that we can't be friends. I've heard that he's really nice to his friends and with the people he works with. Except with me, he seems to have an attitude." Namjoon rolls his eyes, "Maybe it's because of your rude ambitious attitude idiot. Why can't you be nice when it comes to talking with writing colleagues? And I heard that most of his classmates like him because he always wants to do most of the work so that's probably why everyone talks well about him." "Well whatever it is, I have to figure out if he's someone who won't use me before we decide to become friends." "Try being nice again but not like your so-called attempt today." "Hey I really tried, I'm sorry that I'm not as nice anymore." "Okay then finish your work now and when you meet him tomorrow, spend the whole time helping him. He'll be grateful." "I don't like having full-on conversations with people besides you and Jin." "Well, if you want MORE REAL FRIENDSHIPS instead of being a loner with only 8 friends. Start. Being. Nicer."

~HOSEOK POV ; Next day; After school~

"What do you mean you finished?" I say as I look at Yoongi in utter disbelief.

He crosses his arms "Why didn't you tell me you finished."

"I told you I work alone, I was going to help you finish."

"But I was gonna help you finish."

I grab my backpack from the booth seat and take out five dollars, placing them on the table. "That should cover the coffee I ordered. I'll be leaving first." I say as I start leaving the coffee shop. Yoongi stands up, "Wait why are you leaving?" I look back at him, "We both finished, there's no reason as to why I should stay. You said it yourself, we aren't even acquaintances. Me staying with you would make it seem like we were friends or something." Yoongi just stares back at me, not knowing what to say. "I wouldn't want to make you uncomfortable so I'll just leave."

"No."

I look at him confusingly, "Excuse me?" He sits back down and takes his laptop out, "I haven't finished and need your help."

~YOONGI POV~

"No," I say as I look at Namjoon from the corner of my eye. I see him facepalm and sigh, taking another sip from his teacup.

"Excuse me?"

I quickly think of an excuse and sit back down, taking my things out of my backpack and placing them on the table. "I haven't finished and need your help," I say as I start my computer and open up my notebook. Hoseok hesitates but finally sits back down, "Then why did you say you finished..." I click on PowerPoint and turn my laptop screen towards him, "Because I just remembered that my presentation isn't visually appealing and you seem to be good at making things look good." He thinks for a couple of seconds before taking out his own laptop and handing it over to me before taking mine, "Do my calculus homework." "Huh?" He sighs, "Do you want me to help you with your presentation or would you rather ha-" "Okay I'll do it geez"

A couple of hours passed and Hoseok eventually left, both of us completely finished with our work. Namjoon stands up from the table in the store's corner and sits in the same booth as me. "You are so awkward." I look up at him, "Why are you wearing all white? What kind of disguise is that?" He scoffs, "If I wore all black with sunglasses it would look extremely suspicious as that is what people see in movies. Wearing all white, would make people think I was just some teen trying to be edgy." "Whatever," I say as I cross my arms. "Also you are so weird. He asks to leave and you go 'No'? I would think that someone wanted to kidnap me or something." I stand up and give him 10 dollars to pay for his food, Hoseok's coffee, and my food. "I'm gonna leave before you annoy me any further."

"Hey! Don't leave me here!"
