Enlightened
The darkness is what some fear,
The light is what some hope for.

The darkness is another's comfort,
The light is another's doom.

For few are in the gray,
Unaware of which to choose.

I am not of gray or white
I believe the dark is better than light.

For light beats down and blisters
For it shines and brightens wrongs.

For dark conceals and comforts
For it follows only one.

From the moment the light comes upon you
Till the moment the light is gone.

Some say your shadow leaves you,
But I fear that untrue.

For once the light is gone it goes all around
Surrounding every inch,
That's something the light can't do.

It knows you better than you,
It will always be around,
It never leaves your side,
It tries to keep you safe and sound.

Has the light ever done that to you?

For me it has not
Nor do I expect it to.

For in the dark I find home
For which I can forever roam true.
