The months went by in a flash. Soon the summer days Chanyeol adored so much had disappeared and replaced with vibrant leaves. The pain he experienced pushed him to be a better musician. His time was spent helping Baekhyun as well who was now going to therapy with Taeyeon for their past experiences.

The harassment stopped only after many painful conversations and a lot of crying.

All of the members seemed to be dealing with their own struggles. With Xiumin having his anxiety worsen by the day, Suho and Lay having to say goodbye as the younger was needed in China, Baekhyun's mental state deteriorating due to watching his ex lose her mind for something he had caused, Chen being unable to see his girlfriend for months, Chanyeol's broken struggle to pretend everything around him was alright, Kyungsoo's struggle to understand and trust the people around him, Kai having the constant reminder that who he loved would never see him that way and having to watch him be in love with another man, and lastly, Sehun who's self consciousness grew by the day as this was the second time he fell for somebody that would never be in his reach.

All of them were unhappy, stressed, lost, broken. Yet, they weren't. Everyday they managed to smile genuinely. The presence of each member grew them stronger as it was a constant reminder they weren't alone.

Never had the boys felt closer. So as the vibrant leaves Chanyeol learnt to adore slowly faded to brown and were taken over by white specks, his sadness seemed to slowly fade away too. Despite the depressive state the boys knew better than to let it take over. Instead, making better music, better dancing, better connections.

It was the healing process for all of them. From broken to okay. From Summer to Winter.

. . .

"You're still working?" Baekhyun mumbled, having noticed the light still on in the spare studio after waking up to get tea. Chanyeol glanced back to the boy then to his keyboard again.

"I just need to figure out this tune. It won't leave my head." The younger mumbled, trying to figure out what the notes felt right to him. Elder Baekhyun sighed before walking into the room fully and plopping onto the couch. The giraffe glanced at him in confusion.

"What are you doing?" He asked, tilting his head to the side.

"You're Park Chanyeol, god forbid you get to bed before midnight. Your first hours of being 28 isn't going to be spent alone, stressing over music." Baekhyun responsed, laying down fully on the couch.

Chanyeol smiled at his best friend's kindness before getting back to work. Despite having no coffee, the male was wide awake. It was 11:25 pm but all of them had definite jet lag after coming back to Korea.

The two stayed quiet aside from the piano, enjoying no awkwardness between them. Baekhyun would occasionally comment on the notes Chanyeol would play but nothing else until the clock had hit 11:59.

"Stop playing and come here." The elder whispered to his younger member. Chanyeol paused but slowly walked over and sat where Baekhyun's leg had recently moved away from.

"Another year I get to be your closest bestie!" He said with a chuckle.

"It's November you don't get to say that till New Years." The girrafe-like male responsed.

"New Years it whenever I say it is." The two continued to joke until the clock struck midnight. Chanyeol couldn't help but be sad that a certain somebody wasn't by him but he was grateful enough to have Baekhyun.

"Happy Birthday bestie. You successfully completed your mission of telling Kyungsoo your feelings, I'm proud. Your present from me is coming in a minute." Baekhyun said with a smile. Chanyeol thanked him then the two pulled into a hug. Soon they let go and the elder stood up, saying his present was here.
