Girlfriend with a crush

Chapter 3

It's a Wednesday evening, around 1630 hours, and I'm on my way to Eren and Mikasa's house with Storm in the passenger seat. I took him to see my dad today since I was allowed to. My dad was quite happy to him again, he also mentioned that he'll be discharged soon.

"Alright Storm, I need you to be on your best behaviour, just like at the hospital. You think you can do that?" I asked Storm, pulling into the driveway and putting the car in park. Storm looked at me and barked. "Ok, let's go bud."

I get out of the car and open the door for Storm. Storm jumped out of the car and ran to the front door, sitting and waiting for me to open it. I rang the doorbell and waited with Storm, soon the door was opened by Mikasa which is a surprise since she's usually the last one to show up.

"Hey, what a surprise. Did you have the day off or something?" I asked. She let out a laugh and opened the door more so Storm and I could come inside. He ran to the couch and jumped up, sitting down. "Sorry about Storm, I just didn't feel like stopping at home before coming here," I said, rubbing the back of my neck.

I snapped my fingers and pointed in front of me, Storm then got off the couch and sat in front of me with his tongue hanging out of his mouth.

"I didn't know you had a dog, when did you get this guy?" She asked, petting Storms' head.

"I've had him since I was a little kid but when I moved out of the house my dad took care of him. Now my dad's getting older, he can't take care of him as well so he gave Storm back to me." I said with a shrug, Mikasa nodded and walked to the back door.

"Maybe you should put him outside so Mishima and Storm don't fight inside the house." I gave her a nod and started walking towards the back door, snapping my fingers once for Storm to follow me. Mikasa opened the door and I pointed outside, Storm ran out and started sniffing around. "Mishima, come," Mikasa called out. Soon the German Shepard was running down the stairs and out the backdoor.

Mikasa closed the door, we watched as Mishima growled at Storm. Storm growled back but was backing down as well. Huh, never seen him do that before. I thought. I glanced over at Mikasa and she seemed to be shocked as well.

"So, Eren and Armin being kept late at work?" I asked, walking over to the couch. Mikasa sighed and sat in the recliner.

"Yeah, Eren said that they were really busy today but I think that's bull shit." I gave her a confused but surprised look, she never swears unless she's mad. Something must be going on with Eren and Armin. I thought. "You know, they've been hanging out a lot. I think something more than friendship is happening between them." She said, having a dark look in her eyes.

"Well, if that's what you think then I believe it." Mikasa looked in my direction. "I mean if he's 'cheating' then maybe when I didn't show up to dinner last week, he was just looking for an excuse to break up with me," I said, shrugging my shoulders. Mikasa seemed to be processing what I said and considering it a possibility.

"So, how's your dad doing?" Mikasa asked, probably trying to change the subject.

"He's doing well, actually he's about to be discharged." Mikasa nodded. We fell into a comfortable silence when I noticed Mikasa's eyes widen.

"Oh my god, how did I forget that. Annie do you want anything to drink?" She asked. I chuckled, shaking my head no. She let out a relieved sigh and relaxed in her chair.

I heard Storm bark in the backyard and I stood up to go let him in. Storm ran in the door, jumped up on the couch and sat down, Mishima was soon behind him and jumping up beside Storm. I let out a sigh, ducking my head. Walking over to the couch, I snapped my fingers in front of me, making Storm get off the couch and lay down in front of me.
