I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off. Not thinking of where I am or who is beside me, I begin my morning routine. I usually wake up around 0500 hours and start making my breakfast, making my lunch as well. I then take a shower and do all my hygiene stuff like brushing my teeth, washing my face, and putting my hair up. Usually, after I do my stuff in the bathroom, I grab my bag and beret that are sitting on the kitchen table, but today I left my beret in my bedroom.

As I walk into my bedroom, I then realize that someone else is in my house, not just anybody, the one and only Mikasa Ackerman. She was still asleep and it was only 0530 hours. We usually have to be to work for 0730-0800 hours, but I get there early so I can get more done before everyone shows up.

A million thoughts are rushing through my head at this moment, Why is she in my bed, how did I get home last night. Right before I could end my mental freakout, Mikasa started to wake up, having a look of calm then confused then finally shocked. She quickly got out of bed and tried to fix her clothes so she looked, I'm guessing, presentable.

"Oh my god, Annie, I'm so sorry. Wait, what time is it?" She said.

"It's 0530 hours. Come on, I'll drive you to your house so you can get ready." I said, grabbing my beret. Mikasa walked to the door and put on her shoes and saying goodbye to Storm as I grab my bag.

"Alright, Storm, I'll be back later tonight. you behave." I patted Storm's head and walked out the door, locking it behind me.

As I'm driving Mikasa to her house, I'm debating whether I should ask about what happened last night or stay silent. After minutes passing I decided to ask.

"So, Mikasa, what exactly happened last night? The last thing I remember is watching a movie." Mikasa looked down at her hands in her lap, as if she was remembering that moment.

"During the movie, you fell asleep on the couch. By the end, I thought I would drive you and Storm home in your car. When I finally got you into your bed, you wouldn't let go of me." Mikasa began. A light blush crept onto my cheeks. "I gave up on trying to get out of your grip so I fell asleep beside you."

I looked at the road in front of me, speechless. How do you respond to that, I mean, it's not only embarrassing for her but for me too. As we pulled up to her house, I noticed her car was not in the driveway, and Eren doesn't have a car but he does have his license.

"Oh no, he must have taken my car. I told him not to touch it." Mikasa said, looking a bit distressed.

"Hey, don't worry about it, I'll drive you to work. Now go get changed so we're not late." I said with a smile. She seemed to relax, returning the smile and jumping out of the car to get changed.

--Small-time skip--

After about 15-20 minutes past, Mikasa finally walked out in her uniform with her bag slung over her shoulder.

"You ready to go?" I asked. I received a nod, putting the car into drive, we were finally off to work.

The first couple of minutes of the drive were silent and it felt like it had been double the time. I wanted to strike up a conversation but what about. This is usually how it feels when I go on a date with Eren but I shouldn't be thinking of him right now.

"So when is your dad gonna be discharged?" Mikasa started.

"Uh, sometime next week I think. The doctors want him to be supervised for a little bit afterwards because of his heart." I said, remembering the conversation I had with one of the doctors.

"Why? What's wrong with his heart?" Mikasa gave me a confused yet concerned look. Letting out a sigh, I continued.

"Well, apparently during the car accident he had a heart attack that almost killed him. They're saying that the next one will kill him."
