Taehyung's P.O.V
I guided Jungkook to our new apartment and I turned to him who had a long face.
I blinked and took the bags in his hands. "Why the long face?" I asked as I put the bags on the couch.
"I don't even know.." he admitted.
"That call earlier.. is it true?"
He looked up at me. "What is?"
"About only having the guy as a friend." I pointed.
He laughed bitterly and nodded. "Yeah, he was the only one who genuinely cared for me. Everyone just bullies me, laughs at me, and turn their backs on me. Maybe one day, he might do the same as well.." He answered.
I frowned, holding my hand out. He was confused as he hesitantly took it.
I then pulled him closer, taking him in a tight embrace.
I didn't know what I was doing as I rested my chin on his shoulder, letting out a sigh. Something about him just feels so.. unusual.
"Well... count me as a life long friend you could always lean on." I stated.
He slowly lifted his arms as he hugged me back, feeling my shoulder wet..
'He's crying..'
"Have you ever told him your worries and problems?"
"N-no.. I love him, yes, but.. I never fully trusted him with anything deeper, I never wanted to burden him more.." he choked out as he sobbed, coming alot more closer as he held me tighter.
"Maybe... it's for the best.." I whispered in his ear, rubbing his back.

Jungkook's P.O.V
I walked into the school gates as Jimin rushed to me, cupping my cheeks.
"Jeon Jungkook! What happened to you?! I called so many times but you never answered.. the last time was when this friend of yours answered."
I smiled, trying to hide away the heartache that I felt.
"I'm fine hyung.. sorry I didn't notice.. I kept my phone muted for the past few days." I lied, I only watched the phone ring endlessly.
He blinked until he leaned closer, kissing my forehead, making my eyes widen as a soft blush made its way to my face.
"Don't scare me like that.. I thought I lost you.." he murmured as there was nothing but concern scribbled all over his face.
I giggled. "I'm sorry.."
"Oh right, about this guy.."
I tilted my head. "You mean Taehyung?"
"Yeah." He nodded. "Is he really your friend?" He asked with a frown.
I nodded. "Yes.. we were childhood friends." I lied again, I just met him a few days ago.
"How come I never met him?"
I laughed, shaking my head. "It doesn't matter hyung.. classes our about to start, we should go." I said, trying to change the topic.
He smiled softly as he took my hand, holding it firmly as he started leading me inside.
His back was facing me as I frowned, making me hold back my tears.
'Stop holding my hand..'
I let out a shaky sigh as I closed my eyes, letting Jimin hyung lead me to my first class.
'I don't want to dream about a reality that will never happen.. stop it..'
Author's P.O.V
Hoseok watched Taehyung from afar who was also watching Jungkook and Jimin interact with each other.
The matchmaker smiled softly as he watched his friend with a gentle look.
"Oh Taehyung.. i'm sorry about lying to you, I only wanted you to be happy.. one day or another, I promise you would be able to love.."
He whispered as he felt guilty about lying to Taehyung that if he let his human die, he would die too.
But that wasn't true. Once a matchmaker touches his human, he would be given a second chance to live as a mortal and be indebted with the one he touched.
Taehyung may not feel the sensation now, but he would eventually realize it when the time comes.
Every matchmaker undergoes that. And the human that a matchmaker touches, is actually their soulmate.
Throughout the years that Hoseok has been a matchmaker, the other former matchmakers lived out their second chance and found their love.
When others were open about it, Taehyung shun everyone away because he thought that love was useless..
Becoming a matchmaker isn't exactly easy, because when a human dies without finding their significant other, they'll be given a purpose to make people fall in love with each other instead.
Hoseok took out the small Polaroid picture as he smiled, caressing it with his thumb. The picture showed Taehyung smiling as he and Jungkook stared at each other with loving eyes.
"Centuries ago, the both of you were brought together by the Goddess of love.."
"And up till now, she still favors the both of you together.."
Hoseok looked up at the sky as this one was a special case, a mission that the Goddess herself had entrusted to the matchmaker..
Bringing the two back together again, just like the last time they've been born in the same world 500 years back.
"It was written in the stars that both of you were meant to be."
