I continued staring stupidly at the Angel and she stared back. This went on for a long time, at least it felt that way, until Gabe decided to move on.
"Azazel will you please." He said obviously irked. She giggled again and walked over to the basin.
"Please, dear child, dip your face into the water, and see who you are." Azazel said. I nodded, still unsure, and crept toward it. The water was blue, like the entire ocean blue but its only like six inches of water so it should be clear.
"Why is the water blue?" I asked
"Because its Fate water." Gabriel said.
"Fate water? What's that?"
Azazel laughed.
"Fate water is the liquid of Destiny, what path your supposed to take in life. It has the same properties as the human DNA reader to tell who's related to who. Only this can also predict your Inevitable." Gabriel spouted, not even bothering to hide his impatience.
"My inevitable what?"
"No not inevitable with a lower case, no your Inevitable, the one thing you can't avoid."
"Oh, that makes perfect sense, thanks professor."
He glared at me "No need to get sarcastic, girlie, you asked I answered now put your face in the cup!"
"Basin." I muttered.
"I KNOW!" He shouted, I walked over to the basin and stared into it, the water stared back with a blue tinted reflection of myself. All of a sudden I got dizzy and splashed my face into the water. Instead of feeling the cold, which was expected, I found myself floating in a blackness. It wasn't cold but warm and welcoming, like a home you left for a long time and returned to, still feeling the love from it.
You finally come see me, A voice whispered from seemingly all around me, it's been too long, my daughter. We'll need to catch up soon. "Daughter?" I told the darkness.
Yes, none can claim that they be the daughter of Death. Suddenly I was torn from the black and landed smack dab in the middle of Azazel's breasts. Again."Ruby! Ruby! What happened Ruby? We lost you! Ruby? Ruby!" Voices were screaming my name over and over, but they sounded far away. Like a distant party you weren't invited to. Everything became a daze, I remembered only seeing a face, well almost a face it was shrouded in a hood, but somehow I knew that face, it felt warm even though it was dark. The face faded further away, I became frantic almost like I would never see it again. I reached out and touched the hood and felt a massive shock tear through my insides, like my very soul was being torn out of me. Then it stopped and my father faded from my sight.
I awoke in a bedroom overlooking Heaven, it was surprisingly like a New York City overlook, but there didn't seem to be any sort of haze, probably because there was no pollution in Heaven. Out in the distance I saw a red light, very faint but it seemed to be moving closer slowly, almost like it didn't want to be spotted, then the alarms sounded. And all Hell broke lose.
