I walked the few blocks to school quickly, shivering against the September cold. I was a little early, so I sat at on of the picnic tables and slid my iPod out of my bag. I liked to get lost in the music when no one was around. It made me forget about my Mom and Dad, and my family that had fallen apart.
Tonight is the one thing left
And I haven't said it yet; I'm falling
And the writings on the wall....
Today was misery
And I just can't believe this happened, and I finally broke down
She held on to her heart, but now my only star is falling
And burning to the ground
Now I'm crying out...
Secret love, my escape, my escape, take me far, far away
Secret love, are you there, will you answer my prayers?
Please take me anywhere but here, anywhere but here....
I pulled out some home from last night, tapping my feet to the beat of the song, by Mayday Parade. (**A/N: The song is Anywhere But Here. Great song!**)
I was just getting started when someone sat down next to me. I looked up, surprised, pulling one ear bud out of my ear.
Surprise, surprise.
Forestt was just sitting down, his black hair hanging across his face and slightly falling into his gleaming silver eyes.
"Willow," he greeted me. I glared at him and pushed the ear bud back into my ear.
He smiled slightly, and I went back to my homework. Suddenly, he pulled it from me and I saw his hand flying across the paper smoothly. He finished and I stared down at my calculus homework. It was all done.
My mouth fell open and I ripped my ear buds out of my ear as the song ended. "How the hell did you do that!?"
He shrugged. "Practice makes perfect."
I pursed my lips. "Thanks, but I didn't need that. I'm good at math."
I stuffed the homework back into my bag and frowned as a thought hit me. "Why'd you need help yesterday if you're so good at it?" I asked.
He raised his eyebrow at me skeptically. "I wanted to see you fall."
I inclined my head towards him. "You didn't know I was going to fall, so you're lying."
But he shook his head at me. "Oh, I knew you were going to fall. You're that kind of a person." I crossed my arms. "Whatever. Have a nice day."
I got up and started to leave. I didn't need anymore interaction with this guy. There was no way he could have known that I was going to fall. You couldn't just look at someone and know if they were clumsy or not!
Well except for him... he definitely looked like he'd never been publicly embarrassed in his life.
I was a few steps away when a familiar face blocked my view. Two slender hands were thrown around my neck. "Hey Willow!" Alexis screamed. Zeke was right behind her, holding out his hands for a hug. I snorted. "In your dreams." He dropped his arms with a pout.
"What are you doing here so early?" Alexis asked, putting a hand on her hip and cocking her head to one side. Her long, straight hair moved silkily with her.
"Homework." I muttered, with a yawn. I hadn't gotten much sleep last night.
Zeke rolled his eyes. "Have some fun, Low-low."
