Nightmare woke up when a door slammed outside. It sounded like the front door. He sat up, coughing as he did so. Footsteps were heard outside of his room, then there was a knock on the door.
"Come in," Nightmare said. The door opened, it was Ink.
"Error stormed out of the house, pretty sure he's going to either destroy a universe or he's in Outertale" Ink said, his voice sounding completely emotionless. Nightmare nodded, short skeleton hopped off the bed. He was in very poor condition and he nearly fell but he was able to keep his balance. Ink walked off, probably to get himself some food. Nightmare walked out of the room.
"Goodbye Ink" Nightmare said, waving to Ink.
"Goodbye, Nightmare" Ink said, his voice still monotone and emotionless. Nightmare walked out the door, closing it behind him. He grabbed his phone from his pocket and called Cross to come and pick him up from Ink's. Nightmare was in no good condition to make a portal or teleport due to being sick.
Cross appeared through a portal and walked over to Nightmare, who was sitting on the doorstep.
"Heya, Nightmare" Cross said. "Ready to go home..? Killer feels pretty bad about the bet now"
"Oh, yeah I wanna go home," Nightmare said. He stood up and walked through the portal, Cross following behind.
Once Nightmare entered the mansion everyone in there looked towards him. Only Cross and Error knew of his passive form. Nightmare had told Error about it and Cross had just overheard.
"Is that... Is that Nightmare?" Horror asked, looking to Cross. Cross nodded as they both walked in. Nightmare was blushing with embarrassment, he ran up the stairs into his room. Everyone watched him run up the stairs and immediately looked back at Cross. They all had similar questions on their minds about Nightmare. Like, 'is he okay?' and 'Where's Error? Wasn't he going to get him?'.
Nightmare sat alone in his room, curled up in a ball on the floor. Coughing up petals every once and a while. Suddenly there was a loud sound from downstairs, it sounded like a door had been slammed open. There were rushed footsteps up the stairs followed by someone yelling "ERROR?!".
The door to his room was opened suddenly. It was Horror.
"What do you want?" Nightmare said, looking towards Horror.
"Error's back, and he seems pretty upset" He said.
"Oh... I'll go talk to him then" Nightmare said as he stood up. Horror left the room.
Nightmare walked down the hall to Errors room, once he was at the door he heard crying. Hearing Error crying made Nightmare feel guilty, like he had caused this. He knocked on the door and heard Error walk over, the sound of crying nearly stopped as Error opened the door with tears still streaming down his face.
"...Error, are you okay-" Nightmare said, but was cut off by Error.
"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT! IF YOU HAD NEVER SHOWED UP AT INK'S THIS NEVER WOULD HAVE HAPPENED!" Error yelled. The door was slammed shut as glitched sobs came from the room. Nightmare felt heartbroken, he began coughing up flowers. He coughed and coughed until he passed out.
