I had never been around a human I wasn't allowed to kill, but it wasn't as hard for me as Mac seemed to find it. Her pulse tempted me. Her thin neck weaseled its way into my thoughts constantly, but I could ignore it, if I wanted to.

But just because I could didn't mean I would.

Rafael mistook me for caring about what happened to me if I disobeyed the rules. I didn't care about anything anymore. I'd love for him to kill me, in fact.

I wasn't even that hungry, since I'd fed this morning, and I'd killed the night before last. No, my plans started when she flirted with Mac. Mac having a girlfriend and being happy without me was not okay. I noticed Mac was eyeing her too, but he was always eyeing her. He eyed me too sometimes. Not for the same reason, of course. Rory was reading a book at the moment-- Catcher in the Rye. I sat next to her and nudged her when neither of the assistants were looking. She looked up confused.

"What?"

"Hey. I just thought I'd come talk to you, since I haven't really done that yet."

"Oh... hello."

"You like reading?"

I asked, trying to make conversation.

She shrugged,

"I guess so. You?"

"Not really; I like music though. What kinds do you like?"

"Older Rock, like Led Zeppelin and Metallica. Well Metallica isn't that old, but you know what I mean, right?"

"Yeah, yeah I get it. My favorite Metallica song is "King Nothing". What about you?"

I hit it off with her for a while until I decided she liked me well enough.

"Hey," I whispered, "Want to see something? No one else can know about it."

I tried my hand and compelling. She smirked,

"Sure."

"Okay. I'll say I'm gonna take a nap, and in a little while, say you're going to the bathroom. I'll be waiting in your room."

She nodded. I got up and went to ask to take a nap, but then Mac stopped me.

"What are you doing?"

"None of your business." I lashed.

"I heard what you said. What were you going to show Rory?"

I gritted my teeth. This god damn kid had to go and fuck up everything I did.

Dayo narrowed her eyes. Ashley entered the room. The tension built, and I could tell one thing: this wouldn't end pretty.

"Alright, that's enough you two."

I darted forward and knocked Mac to the ground, but this time, Mac was stronger. He got up and dusted himself off, dodging Ashely and Dayo both. He smiled, pleased with himself. His fangs were out. He jumped on me, smashing my nose in with an incredible punch. This time I was on the ground. I was stunned. I had always been the stronger one. Ashely pulled me up and headed for my room, but Mac ripped her away from me, flinging her down the hall. He twisted my arm and broke it with a simple push.

"AAA!"

But he wasn't done. He pushed Ashley into the wall and kicked dayo in the face so hard she spun around.

"She's mine." Mac hissed.

Though I was now extremely handicapped, I had to defend myself. I landed a blow to his eye, but he kicked my knees in, dropping me. He stomped on my face, my broken nose.

"Mac!" I cried, "Stop!" I pleaded.

Rafael opened the door and rubbed his temples. He brought a gun out of his lab coat and pointed it at Mac.

"Stop." Rafael commanded.

Mac stopped, tilting his head,

"What are you going to do? Kill me?"

"This isn't loaded with a silver bullet."

Mac stalked around him.

"Do you think I am bluffing?"

"Yes."

Rafael shot and missed. To his dismay, Mac had literally dodged a bullet. A black smile painted Mac's face,

"You made a big mistake, treating me last night."

Mac attacked Rafael then. Rafael dodged several swings, then swept Mac's feet out from under him and stepped on his shoulder. He shot again, but Mac had escaped already. After a few tries, Mac clipped Rafael in the ear, then shattered his glasses, and shards stabbed into his eyes.

"Gahhh!"

While Rafael couldn't see and could only hear out of one ear, Mac stole Rafael's beretta and shot him in the head.
