Chapter 5

Claire P.O.V

(9 Years Later)

I'm now 20 years old.

I signed up to become a soldier. I've been training hard.

I'm lined up next to people I don't know.

Our commander: Keith Shadis.

Over the past few years I've been leaving sign language. I'm now fluent, but I still have a ways to go.

Commander Keith is walking around us and asking some of us where were from.

He's already asked a few like Armin, a kid named Connie, another kid named Jean.

He started walking to other people.

Once he's in my line, he stops in front of me.

"Who are you!!?" He yelled.

Before I could do anything, Eren stepped in and said.

"Sorry sir, but she's mute, she can only hear and do sign language."

Some people gasped, but I didn't care.

"Well then, tell me in sign language!!!"
"(My name is Claire Smith)" I signed
"Claire Smith huh... And what is it that you want to do.?!"
"(Join the Scouts Sir)"

He looked at me with a little shock but as soon as his expression came, it left.

Once he was done with his yelling, all of us left to eat dinner.

Almost everyone was crowding around Eren and asked him about the Colossal Titan.

When one question was brought up he dropped his spoon and covered his mouth.

I walked towards him and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Thanks."  He said.
"Wait, did Claire live there too?" Someone asked.

I nodded.

They started asking me questions, I couldn't answer then because of, well you already know.

"Stop!!, Can't you see, she can talk, the only way she can communicate is by sign language. So someone ask her one question and I will translate it for you." Eren said.
"Wait, if you saw the Colossal Titan, then that means you saw the other titans, what did they look like?" A girl asks.
"(Their big, their tall, their like us just naked.)"

Eren repeated what I just signed.

Everyone started to go to bed.

We had a lot of training to get done. Tomorrow.
