Next morning at 5:45 am Korey’s mother yelled over the intercom it was time for everyone to get up. Joey jumped up immediately, while Korey groaned and got up slowly.

Once she was up she looked around a remembered Joey’s birthday presents. Going over to the desk she opened one of the wooden boxes and pulled out Joeys new collar.

“Come here Jojo,” she called patting her lap.

Joey galloped over and jumped on Korey’s lap, holding his head up high, seemingly knowing what she wanted.

Korey laughed, putting the new collar loosely around her Jojo’s neck, just tight enough so that it wouldn’t fall off.

Korey walks over to the coffee table, and picks up the pen and papers.

“I went overboard,” she sighed. Her letter was 1 page and ½, her fathers had been a little under 1 page.

“Oh well, he’ll suffer through,” she said knowingly. Her father had on many occasions said that he loved it when Korey wrote long letters, and that he wished she would do it more often.

Korey then walked over to the desk - Joey sat in her lap again - she grabbed an envelope from a pile of them and a marker then pulled the box over. Before she did anything she turned on her top of the line computer, to let it warm up. First she looked at the address on the box and copied it over to the new envelope. Once that was done Korey stapled her letter together, folded them up and slipped them into the envelope.

Korey then reached into the draw of her desk and took out a picture a friend had taken for her and Joey, about 2 months ago. They were sitting at the top of a cherry blossom tree with the camera looking up at them, she was staring off into the distance, like looking at something no one else could see.

Joey looked a tiny bit smaller, while Korey looked to be an inch or 2 shorter. Korey was wearing the schools required uniform, with dog tags and black knee high socks. Spiked bracelets show on her wrist along with a black and silver watch.

The schools uniform consisted of a dark blue blazer and dark blue short skirt, both with black lining, under the blazer was a black and dark purple horizontal striped hoodie, she wore the hoodie of her own choice since the uniform said the undershirt is the person choice. Korey’s long blood-red hair was a 3 or 4 inches shorter, and pulled neatly in a pony on top of her head with the bangs falling down to frame her face.

Korey smiled and quickly placed the photo in the envelope. She then rolled her chair over to the computer and logged on to a online grading sight the school used and clicked on 8th grade. Koreys grade came up all A+’s. She hit print and waited.

“Breakfast is ready,” the chef called over the intercom.

Korey gabbed the printed grades, folded them up and put those to in the envelope.

Then she got up and went to eat breakfast.
