The Arima Family

At a local bakery shop,a brunette girl was siting at one of the tables. She watched as her mother was working at her job,as a baker. She sighed as she looked down at her homework. Her mother took notice.
"You should take a break Michiko."She suggested.
Michiko sighed,"Not right now mom......I need to complete this."
She was too focused on her homework to realize that her friends walked in the shop.
"Hey Michiko!"Hijo greeted.
She jumped as she was taken by surprise,"You scared me......"
"Sorry......we came over to see if you wanted to hang with us."Hijo replied.
Michiko said."I can't.....I'm busy with homework."
Her mother,Fumi,overheard them.
"You should go with them. It would be fun."Fumi stated.
Michiko sweats,"Do I have to.....?"
"It'll be good for you to take a break."Fumi says.
Michiko sighed,"I suppose......"
She got up from her seat,"Let's go."
Michiko followed her friends as they left the bakery shop.
"It's nice getting away from that homework,right Michiko?"Tsuyo asked.
Michiko shrugged,"I guess so......"
"She just wants to be perfect at everything."Uta smirked.
Michiko sweats,"It's not true....."
"Leave her alone. We were supposed to go to the arcade,remember?"Hijo said.
They headed to the arcade and went inside.

Michiko's friends rushed to play games. She stood there,thinking of what to do.She noticed Tsuyo and Uta were playing a shooting game. They seemed glued to it. Michiko decided to see what Hijo was playing.He was playing a retro video game. She went next to him and watched. Suddenly,the game over screen appears and Hijo sighs.
"You lost....."Michiko mumbled.
Hijo was shocked and tripped. He got back up,"You surprised me....."
"Sorry......I guess I was too quiet."Michiko says.
Hijo sweats,"It's fine......wanna play?"
"I don't thInk I'm that great at games."Michiko replied.
Hijo shrugs,"I'm not great either,but I still play."
Michiko says,"I guess I can give it a try."
She plays the game Hijo played. An hour passed before she got to the game over screen. Hijo was amazed,"You're a pro at this!"
"It was my first time."Michiko stated.
Hijo says,"I think you're meant to play video games."
"Is that so?"Michiko questioned.
Hijo replied,"Come on,Tsuyo and Uta should see this."
He took Michiko to his other friends,who were playing skee ball.

"Where were you?"Uta asks.
Tsuyo added,"Yeah,you're missing out."
"I was watching Michiko play for the last hour."Hijo stated.
Tsuyo sweated,"What? No way."
"If she's that great at games,then prove it."Uta demanded.
He handed Michiko a skee ball. She sighed,"Fine then."
She rolled the skee ball and it lands in a hole.
"Beginners luck."Uta smirks.
He rolled a ball which lands in the middle hole.
"Beat that."Uta looks at Michiko.
After a few rounds of skee ball,Michiko scored the most points. Uta and Tsuyo were shocked. Hijo was happy for her.
"That was awesome!"Hijo exclaimed.
Uta groans,"Whatever......."
"I should get going before it's too late....."Michiko says.
Tsuyo replied,"Don't go now,it was starting to get good."
While they were having a conversation,a familiar voice spoke,"Hey sis!"
They turn to see Michiko's brother,Rida. She groaned in annoyance.
"What are you doing here?"Michiko questioned.
Rida replies,"I was going to ask the same. Are these your boyfriends?"
"They're not! Be quiet!"Michiko nags.
Hijo sweats,"Me and Tsuyo are your and Michiko's cousins so.........that's gross."
"Can't you take a joke? I was just kidding."Rida says.
Michiko groans,"This gives me a reason to leave......"
She walks off as the others followed her.
"Stop following me....."Michiko demanded.
Hijo says,"We were having fun......"
"It's getting late. I have work to do."Michiko stated.
Tsuyo asks,"Can you just relax for one day?"
"Why am I hanging with you guys? I'm older than all of you."Michiko groans.
Uta mumbled,"That's why you act so old....."
"I heard that!"Michiko nags.
Rida complains,"You're such a killjoy. Just like always....."
"You're a pest of a brother."Michiko groans.
Rida shrugged,"If you listen to what I tell you to do,maybe you would be better off."
"Ugh.......you're such a brat!"Michiko shouted.
Uta chuckled,"Oh boy,I can sense a fight is about to happen."
"Only kids start fights. I'm going home."Michiko pushed them out of the way as she left.

Tsuyo sweats,"What's her problem?"
"Rida was being pushy....."Hijo replied.
Rida sighs."I didn't mean to.......I have to go and apologize."
"Good luck....."Hijo smiled weakly.
Rida followed his sister home.
They eventually made it to their house. Rida went inside with Michiko.
"Stop following me!"Michiko nags.
Rida sweats,"This is our house...."
"Who cares...?!"Michiko pouts.
Rida says,"I'm sorry ok? I didn't mean to sound rude......"
"You always say that....."Michiko looked unamused.
Rida sighs,"I just want to help. I wanted you to listen on what to do......to make things better."
"What do you mean?"Michiko wondered.
Rida replied,"I wanted to help you not stress about your school work and......stuff like that. I was trying to be helpful....."
"You sounded bossy to me....."Michiko says.
Rida added,"I'm really sorry......please let me help you have fun for once."
"He's right. You don't want to end up like me."They turned to see their dad,Yuto.
Michiko exclaimed,"Dad.....?"
"When I was your age.....actually your brother's age. I only focused on school work and......it took me to a dark place. I never relaxed or had fun just worrying about my grades. It lead me to do bad things....."Yuto explains.
Rida asks,"What kind of bad things?"
"Death......but.......we don't need to talk about that. Keita was the one who helped me see the good things in life. If it wasn't for him,I wouldn't be here......."Yuto was deep in thought.
Michiko said,"If you put it that way.......maybe I should relax every now and then. I'll only do my work when I need to."
"That sounds more like it. Don't ever let work get in the way of your life."Yuto replied.
The front door opened to reveal Fumi. "What are you guys up to?"
"Nothing. Just giving the kids a life lesson."Yuto shrugged.
Fumi teases,"Don't tell me it was the story of how you met Keita."
"Maybe....."Yuto sweats.
Fumi says,"Come on,I brought leftovers from the bakery that we can share."
They all followed Fumi into the kitchen.
Michiko whispered to Rida,"I actually had fun today.......thanks."
Rida smiled back in response.
