♡ So before we move forward to Chapter 12, I just want to apologize for the super-duper delay. I mean, I know I already suck at updating at a regular pace but this was just crazy. My laptop broke, and everything was a mess. You wouldn't believe. I'm in my final months of uni, and hopefully, I'll be graduating by this June, so wish me luck. Love lots.

Amelia stood there, utterly stunned at what you just did. She didn't know what she was feeling anymore.

Her gaze flickered over to the wooden-framed door that you had just gone through-what was it? She didn't know. She wanted to be angry by what you had just done, but she couldn't just find it within herself to bring the emotion forward. She didn't know what to feel.

Regret.

She regretted the words that came out of her mouth.

She didn't know what has gotten into her; she wasn't this kind of person. She became blinded by everything that had happened between her and Tom. Love has torn her apart.

She has completely changed herself-just for a man who was practically still in love with someone else. She seemed... toxic.

Someone entering the small confined space causes her to snap out of her trance, "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know- "

"It's fine, I'm done here." She muttered, casting her gaze downwards as excused herself to walk past the stranger. As she stepped back inside the party, she couldn't help but feel small-she clearly didn't belong here. As the music continued to blare, a frown had etched its way onto her lips whilst scanning around the premises. She needed to have a word with Tom.

The frown only deepened as she failed to spot the person she was searching for but instead her eyes fell on a small particular boy that shared a resemblance with the man she had grown to adore. She didn't know what gotten into her but the next second she was staring at the little boy, and the next her feet took off towards the direction of where the boy interacted with someone she didn't know. However, only to be stopped by someone that stood right in her way.

"I think you and I should have a little chat, don't you think?" the blonde practically sneered, her shoulders visibly tense at her own approach. Amelia couldn't help but swallow the lump that was suddenly formed in the back of her throat she wasn't prepared for such confrontation.

"What can I help you with?" she asked, her gaze flickering around, she glimpsed a few people stealing glances towards their way. The gossip.

Scarlett practically rolled her eyes, her shoulders relaxing as she rests a hand on her hip-she knew herself that people were practically on the edge, trying their best to listen to their conversation; Amelia was practically the talk of the party. However, Scarlett didn't care. "I know that you know."

"Excuse me?" Amelia furrowed her brows, confusion etched all over her face. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Scoffing, she narrows her eyes at the woman before her. "I know that you know Tom-"

"Don't drag him into this conversation." She hissed, the fear of the confrontation suddenly replaced as anger. How dare she talk to me as if she had any business with it?

"Tell me, how can you let James grow without a father?"

Amelia couldn't help the anger boiling in her veins at the words that escaped Scarlett's mouth, she was so tempted to raise a hand and slap her across the face, but no. Amelia wasn't like that, she tried her best to remain calm. "If the kid's even Tom's."
