The next day at school, day 4 of tutoring.
Toni's POV

"So, how did it go yesterday with your crush." Jughead teased.

"Nothing. She just tutored me." I shrugged. Sweet pea and fangs snickered. I smacked fangs on the side of his head.

"Ow!" He yelled. We all started laughing.

Cheryl and Betty started walking towards our table to get to the serving station.

"Watch this," I whispered, nodding towards the girl coming around the table.

I put my foot out causing Cheryl to launch forward, falling off her feet. Her glasses flew off her face.

Everyone at my table laughed except for Jughead, who instead helped Cheryl up.

"Are you okay?" He asked. Cheryl nodded.

Jughead glared at me with disappointment. I just shrugged.

I felt bad. Terribly bad, but I had to get the conversation off of me.

I looked over at Cheryl who just placed her broken glasses on her face.

Her chin bruised and red. But she wasn't crying. Betty walked her out, thanking jughead on the way out.

Jughead grabbed his stuff.

"Where are you going?" I asked. He ignored me, walking out the cafeteria. I turned to fangs and sweet pea, they shrugged.

Cheryl's POV

Jughead and Betty walked me to the nurse's office.

"Hello, Cheryl dear. What can I get for you?"
The nurse, Gladys, asked.

"An ice pack, please," I said. She nodded, getting me an ice pack. I place it on my chin.

"Betty, can you get my spare glasses out my locker, please?" I asked. She nodded, leaving the room.

Leaving me and jughead alone. I held the ice pack against my chin, wincing at the coldness.

"I'm really sorry about Toni. She's just having trouble with something right now. Not saying that it's right to take it out on you, it's just this is the worse she's been." He apologized.

"It's okay. I'm fine." I sighed. He smiled, with a nod.

"Here, " Betty smiled handing me my glasses. I placed them on my face, putting the other ones in my bag.

"Thanks, jughead, I appreciate the help." Betty smiled. Jughead nodded, with a smile.

"It's the least I could do. I mean, she is my friend. That I really need to have a talk with." He said. Betty nodded.

The bell ranged signaling lunch was over. I jumped down off the bed, leaving the room, Jughead, and Betty behind me.

End of the day.
Toni's POV

I walked into the room. Cheryl was already there, books out and ready.

I sat down, taking out my own books.

"Which are we doing today?" She asked, breaking the uncomfortable silence between us.

"How to figure out how to know if a graph is non-proportional or proportional," I said. She nodded, pushing her glasses up. How did her glasses get fixed?

"Okay, so, you see how the graph line starts at 0, 0 is the origin meaning that it equals nothing. So when it starts at the origin it's proportional." She explained. I nodded.

"So when it doesn't start at 0 its non- proportional." She smiled. I nodded.

"So, right here its says, 'how can you tell if 7 over 5 x plus 3 is proportional or non-proportional?' How can we?" She read the question out loud.

I shrugged. She let out the cutest chuckle I've ever heard.

"Okay so if none of them involve 0 it's non-proportional." She explained.

"Ohhh." I nodded. I finally understand this math.

"You got it now?" She asked. I nodded.

My phone ranged, I answered it.

"Yeah, mom?" I said into the phone.

Where are you? Do you have tutoring today?

"Yeah. What's up?"

Aiden is having a fit, he's crying for you.

I put my hand over the speaker of the phone, "um one sec. My little brother needs me." I said. Cheryl nodded understandably

"Put him on the phone," I told her. The sounds of the phone being pass to someone else were heard.

Hello *sniff*

"Hey, buddy! What's wrong?"

I want you to come home. *sniff*

"Okay. I have 25 more minutes of tutoring. Then I'll be at home, we can watch spiderman all you want. It's the weekend!"

O-okay. *sniff* how long are 25 minutes?

"It's not that long."

Okay. *sniffle* *sniffle* I love you

"I love you too." I hung up.

"Sorry about that my little brother tends to miss me if I'm gone for too long." I apologized. I didn't even know why I was apologizing.

"It's okay. Let's just get back to work." She smiled. God, that beautiful smile.
