Chapter Fourteen: The Christmas Present Plan
Miles Preston POV

"Ding!" I heard my phone go off, waking up Dad, Louie, and I.

I sat straight up in my old, tan bed and looked over at the old-fashioned clock that was on my old-fashioned, wooden nightstand. According to my clock, it was now around 8:00 in the morning on Tuesday, December 16th.

"Ugghh, can't you put that thing on vibrate, while we're sleeping, Miles!?!?" Dad complained, as she sat straight up in his bed.

"Yeah, I was having a nice and peaceful dream about ghost-vampire-bats!" Louie added, as he walked into the bedroom that Dad and I were sharing.

"Alright, I'll try to remember next time!" I told them, as I reached over for my ghost smart phone, which was also on my nightstand.

"So, who texted you?"

"I don't know; that's what I'm checking right now."

I pressed down the power button that was on top of my phone, which caused it to turn on. My phone looked as if it was coming to life, as its lock screen suddenly popped up. There was a text message across it that was from Taylor.

"It's from Taylor," I finally answered.

"And what did she say?" Dad asked.

"Hey, guys! Me and Frankie were just doing some research and we just found out that there is a new mall opening up at 12:00 in Swellview on 753 Lily Lane on Friday. We figured that we could go there, so we could get some Christmas shopping done, while we continue to look for the vandals. So, text me back and let us know how that sounds!" I read Taylor's text aloud.

"Christmas shopping!?!?" Louie asked, sounding excited, "I love going Christmas shopping!"

"Louie, since whenever did you like shopping?" Dad asked, as he raised an eyebrow.

"I don't, but I like it when I get to get presents!"

"Louie, you do realize that Christmas is nine days away from now, right?" I asked.

"Yeah, why?"

"Do you really think you could wait that long to open your presents?"

"What's your point? I wait three-hundred-sixty-five days to open Christmas every single year! Sometimes, I have to wait three-hundred-sixty-six on leap years!"

"True," Dad and I both agreed.

"So, what should I tell Taylor?" I asked.

Dad thought for a moment. "Tell her that we'll be there!"

"Ok," I replied, as I unlocked my phone and opened up my messaging app.

I noticed that Phoebe, Carly, Freddie, Spencer, Freddie, Sam, and Cat were in the chat as well.

"Hey, Tay! I just talked to Dad and Louie and they said that we can go! Is there any other new things opening up that we can go to until Friday?" I texted Taylor.

A few seconds later, Taylor replied, "Cool! we r glad that u can come! And no there isn't cuz we looked it up on Google."

"Ok. It feels nice to have a break from looking for the vandals but what should we do until then?"

"Idk. Let's wait for everybody to get back to us."

"Ok."

About a minute later. I picked my phone up to see who had texted me. It was Cat.
