Robyn:Her eyebrows furrowed together in confusion as she followed the others up to their quarters. After Jewel's announcement, each person made their way up to their rooms to freshen up and grab those emergency bags that he had spoken off. She could see the fright that plagued their faces. From the low whispers and the way they dragged their feet, it was evident that they would have rather be anywhere and doing anything then going on this so-called trip with Jewel. The fact that he'd even given them as long as an hour to get ready told her that this excursion was going to be demanding, both mentally and physically as Jewel was definitely not the patient type. What scared her the most was that she wasn't sure she had any real strength left in her.
Finally arriving in her room, she looks around for a while, the girl couldn't have been more lost - she wasn't sure what to bring nor what to wear, although common sense had given her an inkling. No one had really explained to her how things worked around here yet she could tell that Jewel's antics were something that were impossible to get used to and impossible to explain. She had watched him. He was clearly a broken man, and broken men lacked self control no matter how strong or intelligent they were. She had seen it with the downfall of many of the men in her life.
Robyn rubs her face in exhaustion before heading over to the bathroom and staring at herself in the mirror. The bags under her eyes drooped low, she'd hardly been able to sleep even though her body was full of fatigue. She'd always suffered from insomnia as a child but it seemed it had only gotten worse as she got. older and now that she found herself in such a dire predicament, Robyn knew it would only get worse. "You have got to get it together girl," she told herself as she washed her face roughly, trying desperately to ignite feeling in the numb muscles of her face. Once she was finally satisfied, she wiped it down and walked out into her room once again, only to find Red standing there with his arms in his pocket and his back to her.
Hearing the sound of her footsteps behind him, the man turns around almost mechanically to face her. "Hey." He says sternly, looking up at the girl in front of him. The way the greeting left his lips was almost laughable, it was forced and awkward. Visibly, common greetings were not something Red was used to and she could sense his discomfort at even having to talk to her again. As per usual, he held no emotion on his face, standing coldly as ever, ghostly as ever. She almost felt pity for him in that moment.
Throwing her wet towel over her shoulder, she walks nonchalantly to her bed before dropping it on the side desk. "Hey." She mirrors his unwelcoming tone before finally looking over at him with an indifferent look in her eyes. Red could tell that the girl was now used to his robotic and calculated nature but was surprised that it no longer bothered her. To Robyn, it seemed the people in this place were possessed with the inability to be themselves.
She could tell from his firm stance that he hadn't come to just check up on her and she didn't expect that from him either. "What's up?" She asks as she sits on the bed and looks up at him expectantly.
He looks around the room before placing his eyes back to hers. "I can see you haven't started packing yet."
"Well I don't have anything to pack. The only things I could find in this room are basic necessities like a toothbrush, some soap and towels and I'm guessing none of those things are worth packing for this trip apart from maybe soap and mouthwash." She says with a shrug. The statement from Red almost made her laugh, it seemed he had forgotten that she had only arrived in this place with the clothes off her back and nothing else. She wasn't a recruit like everybody else. She had no bag, no personal belongings - she had nothing on her.
Realisation fills his face as he nods and looks up at her. "I thought Tarelle or one of the other girls would have been up here by now to show you to the clothing room. My bad, follow me." He says before walking out of the room, she drags herself up slowly and follows him out of the room. Some recruits had already started making their way down to meet Jewel at the entrance, she could tell they'd rather be too early than too late.
