Jack stood in shock. Well, the boy wasn't a murderer so that was immediately off the table for Hodgins. But that much blood lost for a college student could really affect his learning. Zack stood nervously, waiting for an answer. The student walked up to his bed and sat down, Jack following soon after.
"This looks like a kind of place a junkie would live," Hodgins noted, still looking around the room. Zack just rolled his eyes and closed his eyes. Hodgins looked over and noticed the boy drifting into slumber and chuckled. He waited a few minutes before slamming his hands down to stand up, causing Zack to jump awake.
"Doctor Hodgins! Why would you do that!" Zack shouted, bolting up. Jack just laughed and patted him on the back, causing Zack to push him away. "Now if you wouldn't mind, I would like to be left alone in MY apartment," the boy scolded.
"Wow dude, chill. It was a joke," Hodgins replied, losing his goofy attitude. Zack felt discomfort in his sudden change in emotion and it showed visually. Hodgins was pissed at him now and it was his fault.
"Doctor Hodgins, I'm sorry but this is my place, and I did not invite you in. This could be considered invasion of privacy," Zack replied blandly, causing Jack to shake his head angrily and stomp out the door. It slammed shut causing Zack to jump. The student felt tears form in the corners of his eyes but blinked them away and laid down. He felt awful for what he said, but he didn't know why.
