AU (listen to song above^)
Bradley was sitting on his bed, doing nothing but listening to music. It was a Friday night, and he felt pathetic for doing nothing. All of his friends were out doing something, most of them with their families because it's around thanksgiving time. He never really celebrated thanksgiving, ever since he moved to LA. Still got the Birmingham spirit in him.
He was in a group of friends, most of them from America, some not, but even they had families to go to and celebrate. He didn't. His family was back home still. They supported his decision to move to LA, since he wanted to start his career in music, and the best place to get noticed and gain some fame, was LA. Moving here was difficult for him, but he eventually got used to it, having only lived here for 6 months.
His friends were good people, all had the same kind of outlook on life, just living their best lives. Most of them coming from a broad range of careers; artists, banker, architect, etc. It is crazy to see all the different careers they excel in, and how much they love doing they are doing. But sometimes, as much as he hates to admit it, it's sometimes suffocating. Everyone knows what they want to do with their lives, and here he was, still confused on whether or not he is actually talented. Sure he's being doing music all his life, but he still sometimes has trouble getting out there and performing.
Sometimes, he feels like he can't express how he feels to any of his friends. Which, he thinks is stupid, because he knows he can talk to them, but he has trouble opening up. Though, a certain girl in the group, he feels he can open up to.
Bradley has had his eyes on this girl since day one. Not really thinking much of it at first, but when they hang out, the whole group, she seems to stand out most of the time. He doesn't understand why, but he feels he can... just tell her everything and she'd understand, but he never had the balls to actually do it.
So, there he is. Just sitting at his desk, glasses sliding down his nose slowly, which he fixes every now and then. He should really go and get new glasses. But, as he sits there, on his computer scrolling through venues, he gets a call on this phone.
Surprised by someone calling him, he looks at the caller ID.
"y/n"
Frozen, is what he is. Suddenly, brad is unable to breath and function at all.
"She never calls me," he thinks to himself.
With two deep breaths, he answers the phone call, frantically looking around his messy room.
"Hello?" He speaks into the phone, trying to sound completely normal.
"Hey, you doing anything tonight?" When she starts to speak, Brad is out of his desk chair and walking around in circles, ruffling his hair.
"Uh, no I'm just on my computer. W-why's that?" Curse his stuttering.
"Just wanted to see if you were down to go bowling with me," he looks down at his watch, 10:30 pm, that's kind of late for bowling he thinks, "since everyone else is with their families and stuff."
He thinks for a moment, "okay, bowling, at 10:30 pm, on a Wednesday night... and you have a gig tomorrow... that is very important for your career..."
"So, you down to go? You don't have to," she interrupts his thoughts.
"Oh no, no, no! I'm down, um, what time?" He nervously asks, is he really going to do this, he thinks.
"Okay, cool. Meet me at bowl in 20 minutes?" She asks him.
"Uh, yeah sure, I'll see you then," the anxious boy replies, and hangs up.
