"So what are the rest of powers around here?", the dropped me off with a girl named aria maybe about twenty years old. She was really pretty with dark brown eyes dark hair and tan I assumed she was Native American.
"Hmmmm. I have a super connection to the spirit realm so I watch over the guardians. Caleb has a full mental block so nobody can read his thoughts or harm him with any mental related curses so he commands the prophets you'll be under his watch. Caleb's boyfriend Prax the one you saw earlier controls elements, he commands our warriors. And Gabe controls emotions so, he watches over the healers."
"You mean the Gabe I met?"
"Ya we usually send him to get newbies that don't know about what they are yet so he can keep them calm."
"What's the difference between warriors and guardians?"
"Warriors are constantly training and if anything major happens they get sent out, they have powers like shape shifting, one had super strength which is kind of cliche but basically warriors have powers that are good for hand to hand combat. Guardians on the other hand are more spiritual sent out to protect certain people and angels from other supernatural entities. They have powers like mine usually, sensing some can mentally shied others some physically shield others. Not all powers fit perfectly into one category but we try."
"What's out there that people need so much protection from?"
"Almost everything."
"What's that supposed to mean?", she got off of her couch and and started bending like yoga poses.
"Every myth or legend you've ever heard is probably at least somewhat true."
"And that's why we're here? to protect people from it? How come I haven't seen any of these things if there's so many out there."
"You don't see anything until you know of it. You can feel it though so monsters use that to their advantage because if they can make themselves known enough that you can see them by that time they have enough power over you to kill you so you don't see them for long."
"Why don't they make themselves known to angels before they're aware?", I felt bad asking all these questions but she told me to ask as many as I could and she's used to it so I was going to learn while I could.
"No monster would confront an angel by themselves we're much stronger even when we aren't aware there's just more of them."
"Okay I think I'm getting it a bit more. So how often are we really needed?"
"To be honest, lately more than usual something's pissed off and it's a pain on my guardians asses."
"You're an angel? Aren't you supposed to preach about not swearing?"
"Ughhh weren't you told we were kicked out of heaven for a reason?"
Just then Prax ran in. "The guardians! Call them back. Jake said they were going to be attacked.", he was breathing heavily like he ran the whole two flights of stairs down here.
Aria stood up. "What's attacking them?"
"He said he couldn't see, but it's strong."
Aria past out smacking her head hard on the wooden floor boards.
I didn't know what was going on but it couldn't have been good.
"Get to Caleb's room, when something goes wrong you report to him. Got it?"
I was in shock so I didn't say anything just stared.
"Go!" He yelled and ran towards Aria picking her up and placing her onto the couch.
