The man was tall with dark brown hair that made his dark blue eyes seem extremely out of place. "It's going to be okay." He said to me.
I wanted to be afraid of him but it was almost like I couldn't. It actually felt like I was glad to see him. I had even stopped crying.
"Who are you? Police? I don't like to talk to cops." I said taking a small step back.
"No I'm not a cop." He paused a moment as if thinking what to say. "I'm just like you actually."
"What do you mean 'like me'?"
"You'll find out if you come with me we don't have much time. I found you and they're going to be able to find me."
"Who's they?"
"Ummm hard to explain right now, but I really think you should follow it's not safe being like us and I need to help get you protected. Come please?", I knew I shouldn't but something made me want to, something made me need to.
Before I knew it I was in his bright yellow dodge charger heading down the highway. We talked for a little but it was just a dead end conversation for me. "Where are you taking me?"
"Somewhere safe."
"What did you mean when you said like me?"
"You'll find out soon enough."
I fell asleep around noon I believe because I was getting bored seeing as we'd been on the road for about four hours. What was I doing with this guy? Was my last thought before I drift off to sleep.
"Prax! Let go of him!", I heard the screaming but couldn't tell where it was coming from. Then the room started to light up and I realized I was in chains, hooked against the wall at my ankles and wrists.
"Will you shut the hell up already! The only things I want to hear out of your mouth are screams when I spill you and your useless boyfriends blood.", the man laughed and the door at the far end of the room opened fluorescent light flooding into the room from the hallway.
A boy hit the floor he seemed about my age 16 or 17. His nose was bleeding and there seemed to be a gash in his right leg. He turned though I could see the pain in his face as he pulled himself around. He pushed himself against the wall next to the door. His eyes seemed to be a light green I could only tell because they clashed against the red of his blood covered face. Then he looked at me recognition in his eyes. "Aiden!", he yelled. How did he know my name?
"Caleb, I saw it. I'm sorry I should have told you, warned you sooner. I could have stopped this.", the words were coming from me. I had absolutely no control of what I was saying.
"It's okay, they called the guardians in for help. I know we're playing right into there hands, but it's the only move we have.", the boy put his head into his knees and he started sobbing.
"It's going to be okay Caleb, we'll make it out."
"I know we will, but he might not."Then I was shaken awake. "Are you okay you started screaming and squirming shouting words I couldn't understand."
"Ya I'm okay, just a nightmare."
"Okay well we're here I know it doesn't look like much but it's a lot nicer on the inside.", he climbed out of his door and motioned towards the church across the street. Big dark brown with a small yard out front and stain glass windows every few feet down the sides.
