Chapter 6"Are you sure it's this way?" I ask the girls as Finn and I trail behind them like lost puppies.
"Um, I think so?" Mel scratches her head confusingly.
The campus is even bigger than I imagined. It's like it's own big city in an already massive city.
"How am I ever going to find all my classes?" Finn mutters to himself and I snort.
"That's exactly what I'm thinking," I tell him.
"Oh! Here we go! Just behind these buildings are the main courtyard." Erika says excitedly.
"I thought we'd never make it," I tease and she rolls her.
We only have to walk a bit more before we find ourselves in a large opening within the maze of buildings. There's a beautiful fountain in the center and I watch as students all in purple NYU t-shirts and hoodies chat and laugh as they sit around it. It's crowded to say the least. Students and professors sit on tables and benches.
That's not all though. They have set up big bouncy castles and slip and slides all over the place. I watch students as they play carnival games and there's even a decent sized stage set up on the other side of the courtyard from where I'm sitting.
"Holy shit," Finn says as he looks around.
"This is gonna be so much fun!" Melanie screeches and jumping up and down.
"What do we do first?" Erika asks. I look around spotting a sign up table much like the ones that were in the dorms. They all have letters behind them indicting which line to go into based off of your last name.
"Sign up?" I ask and they chuckle when they see the table as well.
"That would be a good start," Finn agrees while nodding his head.
We walk up to the table and each pick our lines for sign up. I smile at the guy behind the desk when it's my turn.
"Hello! Welcome to Froshweek! My name is Derek and I'm apart of the student's alliance! Can I have your student card and a valid piece of government I.D please?" Derek says with a wide and almost intimidating smile. I wonder how many times he's had to say those exact words to someone today.
"Froshweek?" I question as I hand him both the cards he asked for.
"Yes sir! For a whole week before the semester begins we have activities day and night to welcome the new freshmen starting at NYU. Please sign here." He explains as he hands my cards back and points to the sign up sheet on the table in front of us.
"Oh wow, that sounds like fun." I say. It really doesn't sound all that fun but hey if it includes bouncy castles can I really complain?
"Here's a pamphlet of everything planned for the week! Have fun!" Derek hands me the pamphlet and I thank him before walking away. I look through it; dirty bingo, salsa dancing, wine and paint night, tent parties. Okay so most of these suck but a tent party actually sounds pretty fun.
I want up to the girls and Finn and hold up the pamphlet, "Did ya'll get one of these?"
"We sure did," Melanie says. Her excited eyes are beginning to scare me.
"The tent party sounds like fun. We can pregame since our underage asses won't be able to there." Erika says as she scans the list of activities.
"That's what I was thinking," Finn says and I nod my head in agreement.
"Now, I think there's a certain bouncy castle calling my name," I grin as I run other to the castles set up. They laugh and follow my lead as we stand in line with a bunch of other students.
