This is a bad idea.Jim leapt and dashed, keeping the back of his Dad just in sight, but not daring to get any closer as he follows him through the clear night air.
This is a Really Bad Idea.
'But I don't really have much of a choice. If he's not going to let me see Trollmarket with his permission ... I'll just see it without his permission.'
Jim though back to the argument he heard not minutes before, growling softly at remembering his Mom so upset.
'She probably be even more upset if she found out I was out here.'
Jim quickly shook the thought away. He could not feel guilty about doing this. He had just as much a right to see Trollmarket as any other Full-Troll did.
Jim kept low as Kanjigar went through the woods, the quickest way to the canal. He followed to the edge of the canal, looking down in as his Dad went under the bridge and took out a glowing crystal with a handle.
"What the...?"
... And then carved a door into the wall of the canal and stepped through, the door closing in a kaleidoscope of blue cracks.
"Of course. Now how am I supposed to get in?"
Jim scowled and slumped on the edge of the canal, and growled lightly.
That's when he heard it. Something was coming up from further down the canal.
Jim looked down the canal and nearly had a freaking panic attack.
It was another Troll. One that was not his Dad. And it had a cart.
Now, Jim knew there were other trolls, of course. He wasn't stupid. But besides his Dad and himself he had never actually seen another troll before. And seeing one right in front of him all of the sudden sent Jim into a near physical flail.
This Troll was purple, tall and had horns like his Dad, but instead of straight like his, this Trolls horns sloped back. And he was walking towards the same entrance his Dad had used.
Jim looked at the trolls cart. It was full of junk ... in other words plenty of stuff to hide under. Jim smiled.
'Perfect.'
