Kisaku Haitani
I believe that will conclude our session today, Y/n.

Y/n L/n
Is that so?

Haitani
I'm aware we haven't conversed the whole hour, however, I am taking the rest of the afternoon off so I have to cut this a bit short.

L/n
Oh? Why?

Haitani
Personal matters.

L/n
Right. Personal matters.

Y/n stood in a large empty gym, straightjacket on, and being allowed his very rare time of exercise. Orderly Daichi escorted him around the small indoor track. While the orderly's white sneakers squeaked against the floor, Y/n's sock-covered feet were quiet. Barely a whisper.

As they walked, Y/n glanced at the sunlight spilling in from high, very thin barred windows at the top of the gym's ceiling.

The (h/c) boy wasn't sure why that doctor, Haitani, had allowed him to be outside. He also didn't care to know why. He just wished Kisaku would do it again. However, they had returned to normal, nearly daily sessions, Y/n eating very little at mealtimes (as opposed to a whopping nothing), and now he had exercise time again.

Their footsteps continued.

"That man..."

Daichi flinched at the sound of Y/n's voice.

"Doctor Haitani... he is... odd, isn't he?"

Daichi glanced at the (h/c) boy before he looked away. The orderly recalled the way the doctor in question was overly enthusiastic and completely throwing away protocol when it came to his patient. When Daichi had seen the doctor after hours or anytime he wasn't accompanying Y/n either to a session or a meal, Kisaku almost seemed closed-off; stoic in demeanor.

"Yeah..." Daichi hesitantly agreed. "He is an oddball."

Y/n merely hummed.

Earlier in the day, the doctor had cut their session short, claiming to have taken time off for personal matters.

Y/n sniffed that lie out before it had even left the man's mouth.

What are you up to, doctor? Blank (e/c) eyes trailed back up to the sunlight.

Kisaku left the sanitarium early. With Misani's address put into his GPS, he took one last, lingering look at the imposing, box building, before he reversed. Leaving the security checkpoints surrounding the institute, Kisaku found himself on a long, empty road heading further into the country.

Every quarter hour he passed a semblance of human civilization until he came across a small settlement. The population could not have been higher than a few thousand. It was here Misani's house was, nestled between a row of quaint little suburban homes.

The brunette only hesitated a second before he pulled into the driveway. There was a rusted car, half sticking out of a messy, unattended garage. Both the driveway and the sidewalk leading up to the front door of the house were dirty and overgrown with weeds.

Kisaku stepped out of his car, grimaced at the poor state of the home, and pulled a folder off his backseat. It contained the doctor's "Incident Report" as well as a copy of Misani's resignation letter. With that, he approached the front door, noticing at once the screen door to the front lanai was torn and tattered. Past cocoons of at least a hundred various insects dotted the screened enclosure.
