Kisaku escorted the boy straight to his office.
"I think we need to get something out of the way here before I release you in time for dinner," the man smiled at the (h/c) boy before pushing him inside.
As the boy plopped in his usual chair, Kisaku rounded his desk, did not sit, and set his hands against the polished wood. He leaned forward.
"I am going to ask you a few questions and I want you to answer them with the truth, all right?"
"Isn't that what we've been doing, doctor?" Y/n glanced to the clock on the wall, "Is this an impromptu session?"
Kisaku ignored the boy's words. "How do you feel about your parents, Y/n?"
"I told you, I love them," the boy said, looking a tad startled by Kisaku's direct manner.
"Your mother? Did you ever have any serious disagreements with her? Did she ever do anything to you? Hit you? Made you feel uncomfortable in any way?" It was, after all, his mother Y/n drew the most.
"No..." the boy softly said. "Why would you even think something like that?"
"How were things at school then? Anyone ever bully you? Did you have friends?"
"Some, I think — not anymore of course — and no, I was never bullied...?"
Kisaku leaned forward more. "And (S/b) how do you feel about (S/b)?"
Y/n opened his mouth —
"Don't think about it," Kisaku snapped. "Just the first thing that comes to your mind — how do you feel about (S/b)?"
"S-scared," Y/n stuttered out, looking shocked at his words.
Kisaku's smile was nearly feral. "The boys that you were convicted of murdering; they were in (S/b)'s class in school, weren't they?"
"Yes..."
"You didn't even know their names before you were told them by a police officer?"
"Yes, that's true," Y/n's voice was shrinking. "I didn't recognize them..."
"Your parents — at the scene of the crime, you disarmed (S/b) and was convicted nearly on the spot?"
"Yeah..."
"And Y/n, tell me... were you responsible for the murders of five people?"
"No, I did not murder five people..." it was barely a whisper.
Y/n's face immediately lost its startled look. It twisted; (e/c) eyes focusing properly once more.
"I should not have said that," the boy murmured underneath his breath. "I should not have said that. Why did I say that...?"
At that, Kisaku finally sat down. He sighed as he did so, his chair creaking back at the sudden weight.
"So, (S/b) killed their three bullies, came home and killed mom and dad, and not you — and now you're here." Kisaku glanced around his office as if it embodied the entire sanitarium. "Because you're afraid of the truth. Even though that's all you seem to preach."
Kisaku smiled at the startled boy.
"And that's my diagnosis, Y/n. There's nothing amiss with you. You're innocent and you're completely normal, aren't you? You exhibit no irrational, no delusional, no manic, and no psychopathic behaviors. And you didn't kill those people. You were just a scared child when you came here and now it's the only safe place you know and you'll do anything to preserve that safety."
"...Yes, I think I've got you all figured out; don't I, Y/n?"
Wide (e/c) eyes just blinked owlishly at him.
Kisaku decided he liked that look on the (h/c) boy.
It screamed innocent, just as the boy had this entire time. Everyone had simply been too blind to see it.
